How wonderful!
After all the prophecies and doomsdayers, it’s nice to hear from Our Holy Father that we do not need to fear.
Our priest gave a wonderful homily a few months back about the whole issue of prophecies and people being scared about the future and the whole rapture trap. He said the Church’s teaching is echoed by the prayer recited between the “Our Father” and “For Thine is the kingdom:”
*Deliver us, O Lord, from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and *protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope ** for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We should treat each day as if it might be our last, and not be anxious or scared about the coming days, but wait in joyful hope! Reminds me also of the old spiritual “I wanna be ready, ready to put on that long white robe…”
