Do pets go to heaven??

Hello! My name is tad I lost my favorite buddy, a jack resale terrier dog, just yesterday. I cried myself to sleep and I’ve been crying all day. I had her since I was 2 and now I’m 13 and always played and stayed around her. I’m crying now as I write this and I need reinsurance. Will I be able to greet and see my dog in heaven? I loved her a lot and I want to know if god would allow that. Thanks of u could answer.

It has not been (yet) revealed if animals are in or will go to heaven. My own personal thought is that at the end of time, everything will be restored to us as it should have been before the Fall. Since there were plenty of animals in the Garden of Eden, I’m hoping that we will get to see our pets again sometime in eternity. I am very sorry for the loss of your beloved dog; it is very hard to lose a relationship with an unconditionally loving pet. :flowers:

I can’t think of even one good reason why God would not allow pets into Heaven. :hug3:

I believe it was Jimmy Akins said that WHATEVER you need to be happy in heaven WILL be there. If you NEED Jack to be there in order to be happy, he WILL be there.

Personally, I think there will be animals in heaven.

Well, I think this because look at God’s original idea of paradise with the Garden of Eden…man and woman surrounded by a bunch of animals and nice plants, trees, fruit. with God, where nobody dies or gets sick.

We do not know for sure. The Bible says nothing about this question.

I am sure, however, whatever was good and loveable in your Jack Russell will be in Heaven in some form, because there will be no lack of goodness in Heaven.

I’ve wondered myself, as we have a dog. He’s only about four, but I’ve wondered what we will do when he dies, too.

Animals are in Heaven,
(my own opinion)
but they will be on a different level of heaven,
separate but accessible by us.
In the book of Revelation 19, 11-14 you read.

*The Rider on the White Horse

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called faithful and true, and with justice doth he judge and fight. 12And his eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many diadems, and he had a name written, which no man knoweth but himself. 13And he was clothed with a garment sprinkled with blood; and his name is called, THE WORD OF GOD. 14And the armies that are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.*

So there are definitely Horses up there.

I’m sorry you lost your dog. When I was 9 1/2, I lost my 13 year old poodle, who was my best friend since I was a baby. Dogs have come & gone, that Toby was my favorite. The comfort I have had from reading the Bible is that Scripture assures us that when we are in Heaven, Jesus will wipe our tears away. So, even though - Scripturally - pets don’t have spirits, & Scripture only describes God, angels, & people who are in Heaven, when we are in our Father’s Kingdom, it won’t matter that our beloved pets won’t be there, because we will at the feet of Jesus & seeing the face of God. All our focus will be on worshiping Him.

My mother, father and niece all had visitations from their newly-deceased dogs, so it could be possible. We’ll know when we get there. It’s hard when you lose your dogs. They really are members of the family.

Yes, Tad, pets do go to our heavenly home. They will be waiting to greet you. The reason I know this is because it is based on love. You see, God is Love and everything He does is based on love. We love our pets because of the love given by God. So God honors that love and when our pet dies, He sends some angels to take our pet home.
In heaven it will be even better, because your dog will be able to talk to you.

Let me assure you further, that God has a principle of household salvation in the Bible, and certainly your pet is a part of your family or household because it is loved by the family.

Personally, however, I believe that pets will be in Heaven since the whole of creation will be restored with the Return of Jesus.

Personally, I do not believe that God creates in order to destroy and to efface something completely from creation for all eternity.

First of all, go to the Lord in your grief, because God wants to comfort you. It is the intention of God to use everything that causes us pain in this vale of tears as a way to draw closer, so that every time evil seems to win, it also suffers a defeat at the hands of grace. The Crucifixion was the greatest evil ever perpetrated, and yet God turned that most evil of all situations into the redemption of the world. That is how God works.

We have a tender-hearted God, a God who loves you. It was God who made your dog in a way that made her a friend and a delight for you. God does not forget so much as a sparrow, and even when you had moments in her life when you forgot your dog, God *never *did. God knows all about your loss, and is not hard-hearted about your grief or your loss. God has the peace of knowing all things and that all things will end with the total triumph of all that is good and right, while God also knows you have to have trust about these things.

Having said that, you can trust that when you are in the eternal presence of God, you will suffer no want. Heaven is not going to be what we imagine will give us unending joy. It will be what will in fact give us unending joy. God is not selfish, and did not order the universe without care for those who are in a relationship of love with Him. Love God first, and you can trust that everything good will follow after. Exactly how, we are not given to know, but we do know that it will come to pass, and there will be no tear that is not wiped away.

As you say, thetazlord, we will have our answers beyond doubt when we are in Heaven in The Lord’s Presence.

Actually, we have a lot of those answers now (like this one) that are in Inspired Scripture.

I have never said this and have no idea why you think that I have.

As a Catholic don’t you believe that babies need to be baptized to enter Heaven, & if they don’t, they won’t have the “beatific vision” of Heaven, because they weren’t baptized? Isn’t this what the Catholic church teaches? Yet, you believe that God would let an animal in Heaven but not an unbaptized baby?

Undoubtedly God is more Lovingly Merciful than our most wildest of imaginations

As another poster said, Christ’s victory will cxreate a New Heavens and a New Earth. So when and if you and I make it to Heaven, our joy will be COMPLETE. 100%. Every joy that we have on earth is only a poor imitation of that, and every joy that we had in our lives on earth, such as the joy that our dogs bring to us, we will have in Heaven, only more so.
