Do pets go to heaven??

The Church teaches animals do not have immortal souls -everything else is speculation. If they are in heaven it would be for our sake not theirs. We grieve the loss of our beloved pets because they add so much joy to our lives. I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog. If you needed him to be happy in heaven he would be there for you when you get there.
 
I’m sorry for your loss! I have a terrier also who I love very much!

I asked this question when I was younger to my mother, who told me that if you look at St. Francis, and how much he cared for animals, then you know that God loves all animals and all of his creation and will care for them forever!

Pray to St.Francis, the patron saint of animals, for him to watch over your dog in Heaven! I’m sure he will be there, on a giant pile of bones, waiting for you!

I was taught pets are not immortal and don’t have a soul but since I love animals and miss my pets that have passed I hope we see them again in some form but I’m not betting on it. 🤷
 
Tad, we will all pray for you. You can trust Jesus to care for your departed best friend. Jesus won’t let you down.
 
I cannot imagine Heaven being without my beloved animals at my side. I cannot imagine our all loving God separating us from all those we have loved in our earthly lives, including our animals. If I end up in such a place, without my beloved animals to greet me, I will know I have truly displeased God and am in Hell.
