It was once explained to me by a fellow catholic that God is Perfect, but the Church is part Human and therefore indeed also Sinful. Specifically they taught me, “Perfect Teachings and a Sinful Hierachy”.
It has the right teachings, the right dogmas, but sometimes the human beings within it do not walk the walk. Christ was both God and Man, he came from God the Father combining through the Holy Spirit with the Blessed Virgin Mary, a humble human being.
His Church reflects this element of his nature, it is partly of God(and guided by the Holy Spirit), and partly of humans(with sinfulness involved).
Do protestants deny the human elements of the Church? why? and does this affect their view of elements of Catholocism such as Marian Devotion?
