Show me where in the bible, and the bible alone, that says you should follow only the bible and the bible alone.

Furthermore Where in the Bible it states that we shall have a Man to be the head of the church. Will someone elaborate in this subject please. Thank you God Bless:thumbsup:
Funny,

Where did we get the Bible and why did Protestant Bibles have books removed? Which Church body removed them?

and don’t tell me Ellen White did it because she wasn’t around then, Ok.

No.

I’m Anglican, not Protestant. The difference? I’m catholic but not Catholic. I don’t claim to be Sola Scriptura, but Prima Scriptura. That is, Scripture is the final authority, but Tradition, Reason and Experience all deserve due consideration and all bear on how we understand Scripture…

Who runs the SDA organization/church here on earth? And who is the founder of the SDA? And where is that in the Bible? Where did he/she get the authority to establish the SDA?

Hmmm…they may not admit it…but they follow some sort of tradition…the tradition of their founder in interpreting the Bible passages…without realizing it.
When it comes right down to it, they follow plenty of traditions. The most obvious, of course, is the Tradition of the Table of Contents (i.e. nowhere in Scripture does Scripture say what books are to be included in the Bible). But, there are at least four others.

More important, who did Jesus’ expect His church to be operated by and to teach the world? HUMANS! Jesus is the HEAD Shepherd and other shepherds also lead. It is that simple.

Funny,

You really got me thinking…no man…no how…no one…should be in charge…then I got to thinking…You mention the word ā€œBibleā€ twice…now it got me ta thinkin…did some man go on put that name on the front? How did the word ā€œBibleā€ get on the front of the thing and who did it…help me…help me…

Lutherans follow the Bible along with the writings of Luther (Large Catechism, Small Catechism, etc). Reformed and Presbyterians follow the Bible along with the writings of John Calvin. Etc.
Good question.

Also, what right does a protestant have to tell another protestant that they are wrong, when they both are appealing to their own interpretation of what the bible teaches?

The protestant could only say something like ā€œyou’re wrong according to the Reformed tradition.ā€ But why would that carry any weight? Why is one person’s opinion of the scriptures LESS authoritative then John Calvins, or Martin Luther’s, or anyone else?

Why is any Catholic’s view of the Filioque, for example, any more authoritative than an Orthodox?

To the question of where does it say a man as head of the church i think it was pretty clear when Jesus chose the apostles, THEY WERE ALL MEN! PETER KEYS MAN ! Seems easy to me.🤷

You’ll have to ask a Southern Baptist. The OP made a specific reference to Lutherans which, I believe, did not accurately describe Lutheran practice.

Jon
Quoting from the Southern Baptist Faith and Message, a kind of governing doctrinal document:

ā€œThe Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and **the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. **All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.ā€

Tradition is not ruled out. Much like Lutheranism, all teachings and doctrines are accountable to scripture as the final norm.

Jon,

This is true and that is why these issues are decided by other than any Catholic…it is decided by the big guys with the hats.šŸ™‚

Funny,

It is found in Hezekiah 13:2ā€¦ā€œand it was a sullen day when the Lord looked at those surrounding Him and said…I give you full authority of not one, not two, not three but four square and all Churches…all authority on earth for those Churces and do what you think is best for my peopleā€¦ā€šŸ™‚

Yep, Coptic, I know that. The problem is the guys in the big hats in Rome don’t agree with the guys in the big hats other places.
