Do saints ever deny our prayers?

Do the saints that one prays to ever say, “sorry, but I’m not going to intercede on your behalf.” How do we know that a saint heard our prayer, and is “on the case” as it were?

If what you are praying for is inappropriate, the saint cannot pray for such an intention, but will certainly pray for your welfare.
