The Word of God is Infallible.
Could you expand on what you mean by this answer? Not saying I disagree with you, because I’m not real sure what is meant by the answer. It really could be taken in many different ways and not sure how it answers the OP.

Thanks

Indeed one must always follow their conscience, ideally having taken the time first to rightly form it. The Church can’t stand over someone’s shoulder and be their private moral theologian in everyday decisions. It’s the “rightly formed” bit that gets missed and causes problems - the imperative to follow one’s conscience is totally Catholic 🙂
Good post. The Catholic Church gets caricatured a lot wrt conscience.

There is a group (some call it a cult) called the Local Churches which I have heard claim that they are the one true church. They follow the teachings of two Chinese men called Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Their churches are called “The church in (city name)” (e.g “The church in Dunedin”) as they believe that there is only to be one church per city.

They run a group at the local university (Otago University) which is called “Otago Campus Christians”, which I feel is misleading. At orientation week, they have a table offering a “free study Bible”. Such Bible is called the “Recovery Version” and it contains copious footnotes from what seems like a dispensationalist position.
