You people are like the Catholic Taliban. This is the USA, remember? Not Iran! If the person wants do offend God in such a way, well, it’s up to him and God!

I do not mean this in any demeaning way, but why are not concerned about this?!, what if it where the true body and blood of our God? and not just a scam? i think this is a horrible attitude to take. It has been taken off now, but even still, what if the same situation happened again, should we ignore it, and take the chance of profaininng the body and blood of Christ, by our act of omission?
Do you not care about The Body of Christ?
CarolAnnSFO was only agreeing with me that the e-bay seller probably didn’t know what she was dealing with, so the seller should not be judged too harshly. Neither she nor I were insinuating that such a situation should be ignored. I am sure that CarolAnnSFO cares deeply about the Body (and Blood, Soul, and Divinity they’re all present in a consecrated host) of Christ.

I do feel sorry for the seller. …I think those who threw hate at her…should have been more charitable… I hope people have explained to her better rather than hate her.
It seems to me that anytime anyone speaks out against some evil these days, someone is quick to label it “hate.”
The seller claimed she had gotten “hate emails.”
Sorry, but this lady did need to be corrected for a terrible, terrible wrong. Explaining to her how terribly wrong it is, in her mind’s eye, must’ve been construed as hatred.
I doubt that anyone defending the sacredness of the Most Holy Eucharist expressed hatred toward her, but I’ll bet many were very explicit about the terrible wrong being done.
Look at her words.
She doesn’t sound “VERY sorry,” as she says…
She sounds rather defensive.
She has been informed that the Sacred Host is the Body of Jesus Christ and must be returned to a priest, and she says,
I have NEVER received so much hate mail!
Notice that she is the one who is shouting and accusing.
I have pulled the wafer per your requests.
She continues to call it a “wafer” even though I’ll bet that every emailer referred to it as a Communion Host, Eucharist, Blessed Sacrament, etc.
I AM NOT a Catholic and my blessings come from God.
This sounds like an arrogant swipe. She isn’t Catholic and her blessings come from God, while Catholics’ blessings come from a man…namely, the pope? Who just recently died, so maybe the “Souvenier” will bring in big money now?
You do NOT have to be Catholic to meet the Pope.
Pointless distraction defense tactic, and still shouting…
I am VERY sorry for upsetting all of you.
She does not apologize for her action of committing possible sacrilege, but for causing upset among Catholic ebay buyers.
Is she sorry for offending the sense of the sacred?
Does she show any respect to our Faith?
Or is she just worried about being reported to ebay, and losing future sales?

No, I don’t think she was all that sincere, nor a victim of a vast consipiracy of Catholic “haters.” :nope:
I think people just saw something terribly wrong, told her so, and she got defensive and played “victim.”

I hope she does the right thing and gives the Sacred Host to a Catholic priest. 😦

If the Holy Eucharist, the Source and Summit of our Faith is not worth defending, than nothing is, Charlie1. To shrug this off as the individual’s right to offend God is pretty amazing. I suppose you do the same when you drive past an abortion clinic? 😦
Yes, this is the USA and we have the right to free speech, so when something is wrong, we’d better speak out about it! We do have an obligation to God, after all.
