I really don’t know if this belongs here, but if not, Mods, could youplease move it where it does belong? Thanks.
Anyway… My DH and I were talking to a few couples about marriage this wknd at a picnic, and one couple brought up how some lady had “ruined” their marriage, how she gave them the evil eye, and how they have faced many strange things in their lives that are unexplainable. One thing she said was that one of her kids became blind and no one knew why. That they took her to many hospitals and out of nowhere a few months after that, her sight came back (after lots of praying with some strange woman). Then she said that another one of her kids had some weird disease, and they had to take her to Mexico. That they were at some lady’s house and they prayed a lot and the lady told them a bad spirit had left her daughter’s body.
Another lady said how this guy we both knew had mentioned to her how she could “see” that her 8 yr old was being haunted by a bad spirit and that is why she was always “in danger”, having little accidents here and there, and that he prayed for her, touched her head, and that he could literally see the angry spirit leaving her body and going outside their house. Then she said this guy was telling her how he could see the angry spirit pounding on the window trying to get back inside.
Then another girl said that when giving birth to her baby she had died for a few minutes. When the doctors were able to bring her (and the baby) back to life, that she suddenly felt she was given the gift of tongues. So according to her, she, out of nowhere, will start speaking in tongues and will not understand anything she says, but that a lady friend of hers can translate what she says, and told her she’s praying to God.
All these things are things I cannot believe. Sometimes I think these people are just too naive (they are Mexican, poorly educated and come form very low-income families, so, these are usually very superstitious). So, I was really uncomfortable listening to these things. If they do exist, I have never experienced them, but I really don’t think anything like it exists and that these poor people are just being taken advantage of and are paying money for people to lie to them.
Do you guys believe this sort of stuff actually exists??
