Since Satan and the fallen angels made a perfect choice to not worship God and be separated from Him forever, are they in eternal torment in hell as a human soul would be? Or do they enjoy (or tolerate) hell because they made a choice to be there?

Thank you.

No one enjoys hell, not even Satan himself. He is simply full of pride and trying to keep score. He’s an utterly miserable creature.

They choise it out of jealousy.
Every know a happy and content jealous person?
They are in eternal misery. They can’t take it back. They are separated forever from true happiness and all love.

I try to imagine it less as a place and more of a state of mind (soul). Hell is the eternal absence of God (love & happiness). There is no enjoyment.

They are being punished as well. They hate Hell, and hate souls as well. Since they hate souls and are jealous of souls’ chance of entering Heaven, they try their best to ruin the chance they never got. They are entirely self centered and would never accept a loss.

What the fallen angels want is to get us into hell as well. Fr. Z has an interesting recent post about that.

An excerpt: “First, the fallen angels never sleep, never tire, are never distracted, have no need to travel from point a to b, and they never miss what you are up to. If a government agency can build a profile of you based on bits and pieces of metadata, try to imagine how a fallen angel sees you. They know precisely where to hit with a suggestion, a tug on an appetite, a prod of perfectly timed deception.” The rest of his post is here.

from a biblical stand point there is a reference of someone acknowledging the torment of hell and begging for just a drop of water from the persons finger, and or something about wanting to warn his remaining living sons or something of hell, and being told tough luck.

But I doubt it is the Hell as portrayed in South Park, we may have our memories wiped clean when we get to Heaven and be unable to do a lot of awesome stuff that we can while we are living and we might not be able to fly and soar through the cosmos and only be able to walk around Heaven with a goofy smile on our face and worship and praise God all day, but it has to beat being in Hell forever.

( feel free to disagree with me, this is not a personal attack on anyone, if you are offended feel free to say so and just know i wont ever read your comment nor respond to any baiting )

If someone’s punishment in Hell is scaled to the severity of their sins in life, then I imagine that Satan has it the worst in Hell.

The exorcist priests say that the demons suffer, so I guess I have to go with that.
