My understanding of Catholicism is that Mary and the saints are in heaven praying for those who invoke their intercession. In other words, they are considered like heavenly prayer partners to those who avail themselves of them, if I understand correctly.
Note: I started thinking of this when I was contemplating ‘All Saints Day’ the other day after listening on Catholic radio that it was "All Saints Day’.
Question:
Do Mary and the saints also pray for those who don’t invoke them or seek their intercession or are they just for those who seek them out and believe in their ability to intercede for them? For example, most Protestants I know pray to God in Jesus’ name and do not ask for the intercession of the saints.
Just curious. Thanks.
