Per an article in Hands On Apologetics a few years back (by Gary Michuta):
The Greek word which we translate into “do” is used less than a dozen times in Scripture… in each case (except one) the directive is to “offer” as in sacrifice… not simply “do” as we might use today.
So the Lord’s words of “…as often as you do…” might also be translated “…as often as you offer this…” and that perhaps gives a better (more Catholic

) understanding of the verses.
Now if the protestant understanding is simply a do, and they wish to find a precedent for that translation… it is in the book of Wisdom… oops, they already removed that book.:nope: :whacky:
Anyway, without going to the artical and posting it completely, that is what I recollect.
I will post if someone requests it

handsonapologetics.com/ is a pretty good apologist too.
from the site:
**Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger: Only a month away!! ** The long anticipated release of the blockbuster apologetic work: *Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger: The Untold Story of the Lost Books of the Protestant Bible *will be released in early March 2007. It promises to be one of the those rare works that fundamentally changes the direction of Catholic apologetics. Don’t take my word for it. Look what those who have read advanced copies of
Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger have to say
