Do we have to believe in these?

Do we have to believe in translocation/bilocation and those lifted up (forget what it is called) off the ground? I know several saints said they experienced these phenonomon, like St. John of the Cross and St. Therese. Somehow I find these hard to believe and my priest was surprised that I didn’t.

I’m not sure, but seeing that it has nothing to do with our Salvation I don’t see why. I may need more information about this myself.

no you do not have to believe anything in the stories of saints other than the fact that the Church recognizes that they are saints, and has the authority to canonize saints. They become saints through martyrdom for the faith or display of heroic virtue throughout their lives, not because of levitation or any other spiritual phenomena (I don’t recall either of the saints you mention doing these things but I am no expert).

On the contrary, it would be silly to believe in these claims with the same faith that one believes in the fundamentals and dogmas of the faith. Believe them, or don’t believe in them, with only with the same confidence that one would attach to any historical claim. If you want to increase your confidence in your opinion, one way or the other, investigate the evidence for yourself - which is very difficult to do as usually the only records an amateur can find are summaries of saints lives, from secondary sources.
