Do we lose our loved ones in heaven?

Though the question is already well answered, I think, we shall definitely remember spouese and that they were spouses but that shall no longer be spouses to us. The purpose of marriage is procreation which is not necessary in Heaven.

But every relationship we’ve had on Earth will be imbued with much greater and more perfected love than it was on Earth. There is an exclusivity of love that we have on earth that will not be present in heaven, if that makes sense.

I mean I really struggle with this I’m just in the process of returning to the faith and so I have a lot of deep despair and anxiety. I love my wife I couldn’t imagine not loving her and maybe it’s excessive but I’m trying to learn to love god. I really struggle as arrogant as I sound with being able to trust in his existence and I’m learning more every day. I’m trying to pray daily and partake of the sacraments besides communion until I fully believe but it’s tough for me. Maybe I am damned for doubting.
 
As stated above, some of what we think is conjecture. Mother Angelica did a really good series (now on DVD) on what Heaven will be like if any of you are interested.
 
I definitely am and thank you for providing me answers you also have been hugely intstrumental in my return journey.
 
It would be awesome if God let her do one broadcast from Heaven! Just one…😃

Sometimes hollowood gets some of it right… there’s an episode of the sci fi DS9 where Odo (not sure of the spelling) learns from his guide that the “changelings” are both a drop (individual) and the sea (a community of one). This is us. In Christ we cease being Jews, Gentiles, free, slaves, male, female… we are Christ’s and Christ is ours.

When we find ourselves in Heaven we will not know each other in a carnal way but in a spiritual way–growing pain is necessary… but growth is far more rewarding than just getting old or changing from place to place or understanding or wealth… spiritual growth is to be as Christ:
12 We see now through a glass in a dark manner; but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then I shall know even as I am known. (1 Corinthians 13)
2 Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God; and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know, that, when he shall appear, we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is. (1 St. John 3)

We must aspire to God’s Greatness not to remain as we are.

Here’s the problem people keep missing: Heaven God’s Realm… so why would we want to take to Heaven that which is only a semblance of Heaven?

Cigars and brandy are vices. There will be no vices in Heaven. You will have to satisfy yourself with rivers flowing of milk and honey.
 
I’m Lactose Intolerant and Honey upsets my tomach’ 😠 I’m gonna hide somewhere with my cigars and brandy…

Heaven involves the Beautific Vision, something beyond what you can imagine. Complete satisfaction. Neverending happiness.
 
…that’s exactly what some thought when Faro allowed them to leave; they hid their false gods amongst their “precious” things and they got caught up in such a way that God lead them around the desert for forty years–never to reach the Promised Land!
