Do we turn into angels after we get into Heaven?

The body that has turned to dust will be resurrected in a glorious but not entirely dissimilar form. St. Paul compares it to a seed that “dies” when it is planted in the dust, but then grows to a similar but mature and complete stalk of grain. See 1 Corinthians 15.

We would not be angels, as they are a different species. Paul suggests we would judge angels (1 Cor 6:3). He doesn’t clarify what that means, as that was not his topic of conversation that day. Perhaps it refers to testifying as to how sinless angels helped you or fallen angels harmed you. Then they are judged for that. But that is probably where people get the false idea that they will judge each other. (“But you have to get saved! You’re my friend! I don’t want to judge you someday!” No, the Triune God judges.)

As to no color in Heaven? Really? Revelation 21:18-21 describes a city “adorned as a bride for her husband” in a long list of jewels. True, the gold is so pure it is “transparent,” but that’s not the same as losing its color.

The city did shine with the glory of God (Rev. 21:11). Of course it would. Why wouldn’t it? Weren’t Catholics the first to declare that the resurrection will include “Imperishability, Clarity, Agility, and Subtlety”?

And I don’t see Heaven full of albinos. If Jesus had turned albino in His Resurrection body, wouldn’t someone have written it down? It’s not like they wouldn’t have noticed. 😲

So by this account. You would be suggesting people with server disfigured and disability bodies would be ?

There will be no difference in colour come death and the mercy of God through Jesus.

If you think there will be colour , race or size in the ever living world that’s your opinion.

I am catholic and no way do I believe this body given to me in death will be the same in the living world after death.

I have no tattos or destruction to this body. But that isn’t because of faith.

Because the Lord told me himself. Tattos of Christ and st david mean little to him.

He’d rather see that money go to charity. He judges the heart not body.

Please be careful what we preach. The body is shell that’s all a gift which can be taken away or given at any time.

It’s the heart not physical body which pleases God.

We teach the resurrection. That is the essence of the Catholic faith. And there will be a PHYSICAL Resurrection of the BODY. This is basic Christianity and not only do we profess it in the creed I emplore you to read the CCC regarding the Resurrection of the body. Your “opinion” is not only unsubstantiated but it contradicts the Church and Christ himself. To deny a pigment in the skin of a resurrected body is to deny the Resurrection itself. I would also encourage you to reflect on Thomas and his disbelief at the resurrected corpus. Please read the CCC and reflect on your “Opinion” Vs that of the Church.

Also think too of the idea that there is no “color” in the Resurrection. This implies that the physical reflection of physical light does not exist in the Resurrection of the Body. At it’s heart this idea actually plays into racial inequality. The idea there is no race implies that a race, any race, is bad. And we should not do that. What you can believe and be in line with the Church is that “race will not matter” And it shouldn’t.

Babies should be baptized as soon as possible after birth. St. Padre Pio was baptized the day he was born and later said it was one of the greatest (or the greatest) graces God had given him.

Will be perfected. Their disabilities will be taken away. Their disfigurements will be taken.
We will still have our original bodies, the ones we have now. But all imperfections and flaws will be removed from us. We will be perfect.

Yes, it’s better to feed the hungry than to get tattoos. Yes, it is what we are in our hearts that matters. None of this means that we won’t get back out original bodies at the resurrection.

And if by “color” you mean “race”…you are right. There will be no bigotry, no distinction based on ideas of race.

Um, several things.
A human being is body and soul.
The body is not a shell over the soul, as if the ‘soul’ is the ‘true’ part and the body a jacket or something that can be taken off, left behind, not necessary. Soul and body are both vital to a human being. That is why, at the Final Judgment, our bodies and our souls will be reunited.
The heart is PART of the physical body.
So is the brain.
So are the hands and feet.
So is the tongue.
The soul is not a physical part of the body but it is an integral part of the person. . .just as the body is an integral part.

Your thoughts are. . .interesting. . .but you have several takes which are not in line with authentic Catholic teaching.

Just to add to what has already been explained here.Theologians have gathered from scripture four qualities of the glorified body. I’m sure there are more but these are the ones I’ve seen emphasized.

Impassibility - no more pain, suffering, injury, deformity, sickness, or death.

Subtlety - spiritualized body able to pass through objects like the resurrected Jesus could do.

Clarity - brightness, shining with beauty and light.

Agility - no restrictions on movement. Able to travel a distance greater than our universe faster than the speed of light, as an analogy.

In the CCC - 329

Vatican CCC
329 St. Augustine says: "‘Angel’ is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is ‘spirit’; if you seek the name of their office, it is ‘angel’: from what they are, ‘spirit’, from what they do, ‘angel.’"With their whole beings the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they “always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven” they are the “mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word”.

Thank you for your reply and everyone else’s on this matter.

It would appear many DO believe our earthly bodies will be resurrected with us.

I always had the impression it would be a spiritual body unlike our earthly shell. If I’m wrong sorry.

Regarding colour that is what I meant , there would be no agenda towards colour. Like in this earthly world.
