Absolutely. The fullness of truth will be attacked most aggressively.

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that Satan is an “Equal Opportunity Hater.”

i disagree… he hates those who most love Christ… and so there are some protestants who love Jesus more than some Catholics do… so i guess that is it more than being Catholic…

still… Catholics have weapons non-Cs dont… the rosary, the Mass, confession…

my life has gotten VERY strange since i became a devout Catholic… broken relationships… etc…

i am not complaining because i know that the devil is controlled by God… which explains why i get mad at God when things don’t go “right”…

by the way, have you ever had the scary expreince of feeling you didn’t love God anymore?? i have… and it was very scary… :hmmm: (caused by something that happened…)

:rotfl:I agree sort of… he hates everything but does hate some of us more. He probably hates Orthodox a lot too:D what a nut

When I became more devout I also have seen this. But really, the devil can’t do a thing to us unless we let him. St. Michael fights him off:D

The devil works in weird ways, like getting to your friends who are sinners, etc in hopes of getting to you. It’s better since then you can get rid of your ‘bad’ friends, you know?

I was just thinking this morning how during exorcisms, sometimes the demon will point out the old sins of the people assissting in a way to disconcert them, and ususally only could come up with little things they did when they were little since they’d just been to confession. If it were me, I’d say, you stupid unclean spirit, now that you’ve told me this I’ll go to confession with that, and during the next exorcism you’ve got nothing! Honestly the devil is smart, but not THAT smart. After all, you’ve got to be dumb to give up heaven, especially AFTER seeing God.🤷

It seems like encounters with evil only make us stronger. So we can take it!:nunchuk:

Of course he hates God’s one and only church and has since our lord christ founded it.

yes, i have thought about that… how could Satan possibly rebel against God once he was in Heaven??? almost caused me to lose my faith (somewhat)… hmmmm:hmmm:

Well, it does make sense that Satan would probably hate the church Jesus established the most. He’s just mad that we love Jesus, not him.

what satan did to Jesus, he now does to his followers (the Church)…
Yeah, he does all of this because we’re easy bait compared to Jesus, because he knows that Jesus already kicked his butt once, and he’ll kick it again on Judgement Day.

Oh I am sure that the devil likes descenting Catholics! :D:blush:

The closer we are to God, the more the devil hates us, and paradoxically, the less influence he has over us. I think there is a point, in between, where we are really vulnerable to attack.

He hates and fears Christ. As Christ said, if His enemies call Him Beezlebul, then how much more will they hold His followers in contempt. I’ve noticed that in the world the leaders of even destructive or evil movements are given a certain respect, whereas their followers are often treated like so much dirt or cannon fodder. Examples are Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Kim Jong II, Bin Laden, Mussolini, Tojo, Saddam Hussein (think of all the trouble the Americans went to to give him a public trial, whilst killing thousands of his troops in bombing raids) and so on.

Therefore Satan hates all Christians, and will if he can try to load contempt on them. As far as that goes he hates the human race, even those who serve him. But they are not a threat to him. He will even lend them his power if it suits him eg. the Third Reich (that’s where it got it’s power and brilliance from). They pay for it later though. Yet one wonders what holds Hell and the demonic forces together, because it sure isn’t love.

However I think he is very concerned that Catholic truth should be suppressed, and that Christ’s call for Christian unity should be suppressed. Hence the office of the Pope in particular is singled out for attack, not only by non-Christian enemies, but also by those who follow Christ, and who fail or refuse to see the implications of Christ’s promise to Peter. As a former Protestant, rest assured the toughest battle on the road to reunification will center on the Chair of Peter.

As for individual Christians, Satan’s efforts are to some extent tailored to hit hardest those whom he thinks are the greatest and most effective threat. And that will not depend on their denomination. He is most detemined to destroy those who he perceives as dangerous to him.

sounds like my own conversion. the devil did all he could to keep me from the church. from the spiritual to the phisycal. and it has been a constant battle ever since. keep strong. we have a Christ made Church that the gates of hell will not prevail against. also so many helps ( the rosary, stations of the cross, the intercession of the sts. as well as so many other catholics who are right with you. the more you stand up for the Lord and His Church, the more you will come under fire. rejoice because the world hated Jesus before it ever hated you. dont get discouraged. keep the faith. love in Christ my friend:crossrc:

The devil despises humanity in general.

Your best weapon against him is prayer. Praying the psalms in particular. He hates that.

From reading St. Faustina’s diary, I would think that the devil most hates people great in prayer, who save other soul by their prayers. And so he hates very greatly saints and cloistered sisters who spend their lives in prayer for others. That said, there are holy people who are not Catholics who pray much with effect too, and the devil can only hate such people much for saving others from hell.
But Satan must hate all good people, and often fights people on their way away from him. This does not mean that he hates them most, but rather he hates anyone who serves God.
Some satanists foolishly think satan is their ally and on their side. But when they die, I am afraid they will see how friendly he is then.

I have always wondered why our brothers and sisters who believe in a doctrine of OSAS claim to be tempted by anyone, Satan included. What would be the point of Satan wasting his time like that if they are saved no matter what? Seems common sense Satan would see that acceptance of Christ and go look elsewhere for souls he could steal.

The devil hates the Truth…and only the Catholic Church contains the fullness of the truth. The Church is his natural target. Now, he also hates any person who has any part of the truth reflected in them or has the potential to…so he does not attack the Catholic Church exclusively but most intensely.

Dear distracted,

Yes, look at all the Saints.
St Pio battled the Devil physically all of the time and got so beat up.
So to some, more so than others, but I believe the closer you are to God, the more attacks come, whether be emotional, spiritual, mental, physical.

The Devil doesnt care much about those outside the Church, well even those lukewarm Catholics, or liberals, because he has already got them.

I will pray for you distracted, you are a warrior for Christ!
God bless you abundantly!

Peace of Christ,

Charity indeed ! And fatalistic  Thank you :rolleyes::rolleyes: for that wholly irrational, untheological, and hereticcal nonsense, which even Rome condemns as untrue: it must, if intercession is not to be a wasyte of time. STM that rubbish is merely an excuse for some people to get out of having to pray - they can thus in good conscience leave those of whom they disapprove to the devil. What charity !:rolleyes::rolleyes:
