He might. They are salty, and the christians are supposed to be the salt of the earth. So you may have a good case there.👍]

And what about when we lose our flavor?

I don’t think that the devil hates Catholic’s anymore then everyone else. I think the devil hates everyone including himself. But I think that rather you are Protestant, Catholic, Jewish etc as long as you are close to God and do Gods work the best you can he hates you the worst and wants you more.

I do believe though that he is after the Catholic Church more than any other Church in this world. Because I believe that Jesus Christ is the CC and he tries his best to hurt Jesus. And his weapon is hurting us because when he hurts us he hurts Jesus. He know he cannot get to Jesus because Jesus rejects all sin. But we unfortunately don’t reject sin, and when we sin we become separated from God and the devil loves that. He hates to see us reconcile ourself with Christ again, that just kills him.

If Jesus was the only one able to keep the ten commandments then why did he give them to us to follow. ??? We are all able to follow them if we choose to do so.

Yes I once was very religous and trying to live a Holy life now, after all we are “ALL CALLED TO BE HOLY” The idea is to refrain from sin, people who believe thery are so called “Saved” do not worry about the commandments as they feel nothing can keep them from God in fact they place grace above gods laws… They both work together as you cannot claim you have faith and not follow the commandments.]

Have you been able to keep every Commandment since you were aware of them? I haven’t; not that I’m proud of it:o Ever tell a lie? Do you still today, fromm time to time?Ever take something thatwasn’t yours, no matter how small? Ever lust after a man, in your heart, or covet your neighbor’s stuff? Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not abolish it! God originally gave the Ten Commandments to the Israelites, who could not keep them! Try as we may, it is nearly impossible to keep them, due to our sin nature! Jesus even said that if you hate someone in your heart, it is the equivalent of murder:eek:Paul said that the Law was for the lawless, not the righteous! That was the cool thing about the “Way of The Master,” series. People would claim that they were “good” people and had kept all the Commandments. But under pressure, they revealed that they had broken nearly every one!

**The ten commandments were to be followed in the OT and especially in the NT of Christ where does it say they are impossible to keep.??? the whole idea if one truly believes in Chist is to follow them if one truly has faith in Christ. We all have broke the commandments however we are suppose to be truly sorry, contrite, sincere and not repeat the offense. You are misinterpreting Paul above which is typical of the OSAS sect. you take a couple of verses out of context as a way to live by and call them doctrine.

The commandments are Christs golden rules for us to follow for true believers in fact the whole NT is about the consequences if we dont follow the Lords Commandments.

**here is just couple you should apply to your so called faith in Christ

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.**

joan1957: Maybe you should read slower, or wear your glasses! I have never implied that the Ten Commandments, or any other Commandments of Christ were not important:eek: What I have stated, as I did to a catholic co-worker, was that the Ten Commandments were in and of themselves, perfect because they were delivered by the hand of God! But in our frail humaness, we are unable to keep them all! Ever heard of something called G-R-A-C-E? You know: God Removes All Condemnation Evermore? I suggest that you read Romans chapters 5&8, where Paul shows us the dangers of trying to follow the Law. And you still haven’t answered the question, have you kept them all?

SHe never said they were impossible to keep she said they are hard to keep. And I agree with her 100%. Are you saying its not hard to keep the ten commandments?

**This is what i love about this sect , you quote a couple of verses out of context as a way to live by. you do not see Gods whole word or follow anything in the NT. you dont quote Matthew , Mark, Luke, John or Revelations, because then you be obligated to follow the ten commandments as you are suppose to according to Christ.
I try to keep them yes, i do my best to keep them and live a holy life … Im not a Saint because I choose not to be. Sin sends man to Hell, so if we are continually breaking God’s commandments then according to Jesus Christ we are going to be judged.

You use a couple of verses taken out of context to sin. Its quite clear according to your statments you disregard the commandments or dont apply them to what you call faith… thats what faith is . If you have faith you are following Gods commandments.**

Are you speaking of your sect? Can you name me one person, besides Jesus, who has kept all Commandments? I do not pick and choose verses at random and choose them to live by, just as I do not keep Christ on the Cross, as your sect does; once was enough:eek: And yes, it is very difficult to keep the Commandments, even with Jesus’s help! Why, because we are human, we are stubborn, and as much as we hate to admit it, we are selfish, and self centered! And I gave you chapters in Romans, where Paul pretty much trashes the Law, this from one who used to lavish the Law and pnish others with it! BTW, get down off the cross, we need the wood:p And just for you information, I do apply the Commandments to my faith, oh ye who stands in judgement. And finally, let me ask you this; I have heard about the cc doing work with hospitals, and homeless, but what does the average Joe catholic do on his/her own to further the Kingdom? What does joan1957 do, as far as witnessing, feeding the homeless, etc.?

One of my favorite churches is a couple doors down from UIC Pavilion in Chicago, and it has the bloodiest crucifix I’ve ever seen in a church. It’s probably the most accurate depiction of how Christ suffered for us (in my neck of the woods). Now my husband’s friend is a pastor through Assemblies of God, and when we visited his church, I can’t remember seeing a cross at all, however, there may have been a very generic one. But that’s my point. I remember the bloody one very well. Christ died a horrific death for us as you well know. Why does your church want to distance themselves from that memory? And why would Christ want us to forget?

**Can I ask you a question, who are the commandments there for ???

If we dont need them, as you are implying,! then why would Christ ask us to follow them …??? or abide in them…**

If you dont answer this , then I got my answer… Thank you

why is there judgement for believers then. and why are the commandments there??

Our church doesn’t distance itself from the memory of Christ’s suffering at Golgotha:rolleyes: We have Crosses in our sanctuary, and the empty Cross+the empty tomb(you guys don’t depict Him still in there do you?), = victory for US! You do remember that Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimethea, Pharisees, removed Jesus’s body from the Cross, don’t you?(John 19:38-42) I’m sure catholics are not the only religion that chooses to keep Our Saviour on the Cross, but it seems sad, that they cannot remember the horror of that day without a corpus on the Cross! Let me ask you this: If one of your children were killed in a horrific accident, and someone had a very vivid and graphic video, would youwatch it every day?

joan1957: Your attempt at condescencion, is W-E-A-K! Of course I know that the Commandments are for everyone from the Israelites in the wilderness, to unborn babies, yet to come! And I have never IMPLIED that we shouldn’t at least try to keep them! I’mjust saying that is EXTREMELY difficult to keep them, even with Jesus’s help(Phillippians 4:13) Look, our flesh is permanently flawed, and cannot be redeemed; but our souls can! We have too many distractions that keep us from following all the Commandments! But I never said, or implied that we shouldn’t follow them. Hey, try as I might, I can’t keep them all! Christians will be judged by God and Jesus, not each other; as much for what they did or didn’t do for their fellow man as well as Jesus:thumbsup:Based on your refusal to answer the question about what you do personally for the Lord, as far as service to others(the lost, homeless, etc.), I would guess you do nothing, besides mabe donate money or clothes, etc.😦

Then i guess the next question would be, what happens if you dont keep THE COMMANDMENTS are you still saved.

?** YOU SAID ABOVE YOU CANT KEEP THEM . BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE YOUR WILL RATHER THAN GODS WILL. THE LORD WOULD HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM TO US IF HE THOUGHT WE COULD NOT FOLLOW THEM
**
what i do for the Lord
  1. CHARITY
  2. I GO TO CHURCH ON A REGULAR BASIS
    3 I PARTAKE IN COMMUNION
3.I SUFFER PUTTING ASIDE MY NEEDS TO HONOR HIS WILL
4.I TRY TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE
    5.I FOLLOW THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
SO ONCE AGAIN IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THE COMMANDMENTS ARE YOU STILL SAVED ???**

Placing a formed, whether bloody or not, Jesus on a cross is different than viewing Him being crucified on the cross every day [via a video]. However, saintly types might do such a thing. Your question about viewing a video of one of my children dying in a horrific accident (how do you know one hasn’t?) is a bit ludicrous, not to mention pretty cruel. Just what does your faith give you, if not to be kind? Here’s a great quote from someone quoting O’Connor who was referring to Patrick Kennedy’s latest fallout with Bishop Tobin:

“Let’s pray little Patrick will leave the Catholic Church until he’s ready to be Catholic. It’s a free country. Let him run off and join the nearest branch of — in the words of Flannery O’Connor — ‘the Holy Church of Christ Without Christ, where the blind don’t see, and the lame don’t walk, and what’s dead stays that way.’”

Using the example of a child dying in ahorrific accident, was used to show ho:thumbsup:w watching someone you love die all over again(in my opinion) accomplishes nothing! In hebrews, it says something to the effect,“He died ONCE, for ALL!” So, maybe you don’t remember that the two Pharisees REMOVED His body from the Cross! For me, when I see an empty Cross, I shudder, remembering that Our Saviour paid a dear price for US to be able to have grace(can’t earn it!), and to inherit the Kingdom of God,“We are co-heirs with Christ!”. So, if you and your fellow catholics NEED a corpus, by all means, wear onw; but don’t try to make theose of us who don’t feel less Christian by not doing so!

.

Ever since i have become a catechized and enthused Catholic, it seems the devil pays much more attention to me…:rolleyes:

do you agree??
absolutely…and you shoulda made a poll…but yeah, totally…ever notice how when they attack christians, its catholics they go for? idk if its just because we have the most, universal church and they know everyones gonna get the joke or what…but…were always the brunt of everything man…drives me crazy…

Hmmm… Has anyone noticed how Satan worshipers are always trying to steal consecrated hosts in order to defile them? Admittedly, they only go after Catholics for that - they don’t bother with Protestant Churches.
