absolutely…and you shoulda made a poll…but yeah, totally…ever notice how when they attack christians, its catholics they go for? idk if its just because we have the most, universal church and they know everyones gonna get the joke or what…but…were always the brunt of everything man…drives me crazy…
how do you do a poll?

lol took me days to figure it out tooo…

when you post a new thread…scroll to the verryyyyyyyyyyyy bottom (additional options or somewhere thereabouts) before you click ‘post’ and it will have an option to post a poll. click the box. then post thread. before thread actually posts, it will take you to another screen where you can determine question, how many options, if you want people to see who voted how, etc…

🙂

Beliver you did not answer the question.??

Then i guess the next question would be, what happens if you dont keep THE COMMANDMENTS are you still saved.

?** YOU SAID ABOVE YOU CANT KEEP THEM . BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE YOUR WILL RATHER THAN GODS WILL. THE LORD WOULD HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM TO US IF HE THOUGHT WE COULD NOT FOLLOW THEM
**
what i do for the Lord
  1. CHARITY
  2. I GO TO CHURCH ON A REGULAR BASIS
    3 I PARTAKE IN COMMUNION
3.I SUFFER PUTTING ASIDE MY NEEDS TO HONOR HIS WILL
4.I TRY TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE
    5.I FOLLOW THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
SO ONCE AGAIN IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THE COMMANDMENTS ARE YOU STILL SAVED ???**

Hmmm… Has anyone noticed how Satan worshipers are always trying to steal consecrated hosts in order to defile them? Admittedly, they only go after Catholics for that - they don’t bother with Protestant Churches.
Actually, it is a concern in the Episcopal Church, which is not exactly protestant. I am a lay eucharistic minister (like your “extraordinary ministers”), and we are trained to watch for that. I have never had an instance of this occurring, but apparently it does happen at the diocesan cathedral from time to time.

joann1957: I’m not exactly sure why you are so hell-bent on proving that I am advocating not following the Commandments, after one is saved! So, I challenge you to find one of my posts, containing words similar to these,“I don’t feel that it is important to follow Christ’s Commandments, once you are saved!” If you are unable to find one(without misinterpreting my writings, then perhaps you should drop this attack! And whether or not one believes in OSAS or not, has nothing to do with following the Ten Commandments:p I know a man who has been a Christian for sixty(60) years, who tld me that he struggles daily and weekly, with following them. How bout if I put it this way; if your child misbehaves, and breaks the rules, do you still love him/her? Do you think, that because of grace, that when we sin occasionally, Jesus turns His back on us, or takes His love away? What about all of those famous people in the Bible that God chose to do His will; did they all follow every Commandment? Moses, David, Solomon, and on and on.

joann1957: BTW, I think it’s great that you are doing all those thing for the Lord:thumbsup: So, in the area of charity, do you actually participate in any outreach programs; such as street ministry, feeding the homeless, Bible studies, or anything outside the four walls?(Mark 10:45)

joann1957: You really ned to read(slowly), Paul’s dissertation against relying on the Law for your salvation! And what I said was that because we are human, and still have a sin nature, it is nearly impossible to keep all the Commandments for your entire Christian life;) Let’s say you are just leaving an extraordinarly great mass, and someone cuts you off in traffic:eek: Are you able to say, “Oh my, that guy did a very bad thing!” If the Law could save us, would there be a need for a Saviour?

Placing a formed, whether bloody or not, Jesus on a cross is different than viewing Him being crucified on the cross every day [via a video]. However, saintly types might do such a thing. Your question about viewing a video of one of my children dying in a horrific accident (how do you know one hasn’t?) is a bit ludicrous, not to mention pretty cruel. Just what does your faith give you, if not to be kind? Here’s a great quote from someone quoting O’Connor who was referring to Patrick Kennedy’s latest fallout with Bishop Tobin:

“[Let’s pray little Patrick will leave the Catholic Church until he’s ready to be Catholic. It’s a free country. Let him run off and join the nearest branch of — in the words of Flannery O’Connor — ‘the Holy Church of Christ Without Christ, where the blind don’t see, and the lame don’t walk, and what’s dead stays that way.’”
]

This quote makes no sense at all!

Paul is not Jesus and I feel yu should listen to the Lords words, his whole word rather than quoting one verse out of paul…as a way to live by

I do not rely on the Law for my salvation as you put it, if one has true faith he follows gods golden rules, his commandments as we are asked to abide in according to Jesus Christ.

Jesus told us they are not hard to keep and they must be applied to our faith for that is what true faith is.

mabey you should read what jesus tells us in the rest of the books.

**

John1 5:3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?**

You are correct, Paul was not Jesus, but every word he spoke was given to him by the Holy Spirit! Are you speaking about the whole Ten Commandments? You do remember that Jesus told His disciples that the second most important Commandment is to love others as yourself! I believe that in the time we are living, this Commandment is grievious for many of us humans, Christians included! Just read some of the posts between people of differing faiths! 1John 4:20, says, “If a man says that he loves God, but hates his brother, then he is a liar, because God is love!” Look at how many of the Ten Commandments are easy to keep: Do we put up idols, and worship them? Do we covet our neighbor’s stuff? Do we keep the sabbath holy? And I didn’t use just one verse from Paul, I asked you to read chapters 5 and 8 in Romans! Although the Jews had many other laws and rituals, the Ten Commandments were the center point! Paul said this about the Law: “I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.” The Law is perfect, but was corrupted by man. And Jesus did say," If you love Me, you will keep my Commandments!"👍

Jesus said if you love me you keep my commandments, he also said they are not HARD “grevious” to keep as you have been claiming in our debate

Idols are not pics of Jesus etc in the bible, they refer to" other Gods," i do keep the sabbath day holy as most Christians go to church on sunday. you want to quote one verse from Romans to live by, its the whole word of God we live by, not a couple of verses taken out of context.

**Here Paul was talking about the “Royal” law the second tablet only. Which is a common mistake which makes us believe that he is talking about the whole law. This is where if we were aware of Paul’s colloquialisms we would understand that right off.

If you feel you don’t need to do this then don’t. 1 John 5:3 says For this is the love of God that we keep His commandments, and that they will not be difficult**

“The **scripture says in Romans 8:13, ‘if you live after the flesh you will die.’

And Jesus said, ‘if your eye offend thee, pluck it out. It’s better for you to enter into life maimed than enter into hellfire.’ And the word ‘offend’ means ’causes you to sin.**

The last time I checked, Romans 8, had more than one verse, as do all the chapters I recommended you read! Actually this is fun; someone who is as stubborn as me:D I still maintain that I have NEVER advocated not following the Commandments; just said that it is extremely difficult to! Look at the Israelites in the desert; the first ones to be under the Law. They have never fully kept all Commandments, and yet are God’s chosen people:confused:If you put a child in a room with a candy bar, a cookie, or a television set and a game, and told them not to eat, or touch the TV, and repeated it with 100 children, how many do you think would obey? In Matthew 22:36-38, Jesus tells us what the 2 greatest Commandments are! The second greatest, is to love others as we do ourselves. How many of us can say we love everyone(God’s will), not just the ones we choose to love? I have come a long way in this regard; which allows me to witness to strangers, or to do street ministry! And I believe that Paul was talking also about the Ten Commandments, because he spoke of coveting and lust, saying that the Law led him to an understanding of sin! And John is correct, when he said that "His Commandments are not grievious; it’s that keeping them part that trips us up! And when you pick and choose verses to disprove my position, then you are no better than I:thumbsup:

Muddling and semantics will get you no where in a debat.

We are told to keep them, we are told they are not hard to keep PER JESUS

not Paul or you

I follow Gods whole word all the books, you pick a couple of verses out of Romans and Gal. usually OSAS does as a way to live by.

Bottom line if we want to enter heaven one with faith follows and keeps Gods commandments Per Jesus Christ

Spoken by someone with experience in muddling and semantics!😛 And Jesus, I believe, meant that His Commandments were not grievious! And He is right, they aren’t; but keeping them is a whole different story! Are your rules for your children grievious? Are they hard to keep? Do your children always keep them? Is there a reward for keeping them? And once again, for the hard of hearing, I gave you several chapters, not just verses to support the notion, that the Law cannot save us! But, because of the veil before your eyes, you cannot see or understand. And furthermore, when it comes to OSAS, following or not following the Commandments, does not mean anything:D If a person actually believes that once they are saved, they can do whatever they want, then I would question the sincerity of their salvation! If you truly followed Christ’s Commandments, and they were not grievious, as you continue to point out, then you wouldn’t have to say,“I TRY to live a holy life,” rather you would say,“I live a holy life!” If you could honestly say, "I love everyone like I do myself, then you are following the second greatest Commandment! And Paul was a representative of Christ on this earth, so his words are important, and he did address the Ten Commandments, as part of the Law, not just Jewish Laws! Why would he say,“If it were not for the Law, I would not have known that coveting was a sin.” Or lust’ those are part of the TC! It’s been interesting, but I sense that you have made up your mind(closed as it is) that I believe in not following the Commandments;W-R-O-N-G! Anyway, I still love and respect, my sister in Christ!👍

awgusteen: Never realized catholics were so thin-skinned and paranoid:eek::rolleyes:
It would be charitable to quote those to whom you are responding, so that everyone can get the full impact of such intellectually stimulating thoughts. The world trembles in the face of your towering intellect.

**you make every excuse to Not keep them, rather then to do what is required of you as a Christian. Paul and every other prophet are representatives for Christ… You leave out Mattew and the rest of the prohets, because this would obligate you to really absorb Gods whole word and see all the consequences if we dont keep the commandments. You are not stating we should not follow them, however you have reiterated many times over how one simply cannot keep them… And my point was and is, we as Christrians with faith are obligated and required to follow them . the rest of the books and prophets will tell you what happens to one who dont…in fact there is more about one going to Hell in the NT then going to Heaven…
