**you make every excuse to Not keep them, rather then to do what is required of you as a Christian. Paul and every other prophet are representatives for Christ… You leave out Mattew and the rest of the prohets, because this would obligate you to really absorb Gods whole word and see all the consequences if we dont keep the commandments. You are not stating we should not follow them, however you have reiterated many times over how one simply cannot keep them… And my point was and is, we as Christrians with faith are obligated and required to follow them . the rest of the books and prophets will tell you what happens to one who dont…in fact there is more about one going to Hell in the NT then going to Heaven…

This debate has finally reached a brick wall! You keep trying to say that I am ignoring all the people who tell us that we are going to Hell if we don’t keep them.and I have merely said that it is difficult! I know that following the Commandments is difficult, and like you, and countless other Christians, I try everyday to follow them! Inevitably, because of my humanness, and pride, I (even if it’s in my mind) break one. And I’m sure that there are some who believe that they have kept or do keep them all! Like I asked you, do you love ALL others as yourself, or do you decide who you love and who you don’t? Is hate a part of God’s vocabulary? As hard as it is, I am making great strides in being able to forgive and to love everyone, however difficult it may be! So you see, even though we are charged with keeping His Commandments, it is very dificult! Thank God for His grace!👍

It would be charitable to quote those to whom you are responding, so that everyone can get the full impact of such intellectually stimulating thoughts. The world trembles in the face of your towering intellect.

On several occasions, catholics have bemoaned the fact that they are hated, persecuted and chased after by the devil! Get a life, ALL of us Christians are persecuted!

Grace does not place us above Gods commandments. we are suppose to KEEP the ten commandments per Jesus Christ. You claim its "difficult, however Jesus himself tells us they are not hard to keep or quote “grievous” You seem to be making your own set of rules ,ideals .

absolutely…and you shoulda made a poll…but yeah, totally…ever notice how when they attack christians, its catholics they go for? idk if its just because we have the most, universal church and they know everyones gonna get the joke or what…but…were always the brunt of everything man…drives me crazy…
how do i do a poll?

lol took me days to figure it out tooo…

when you post a new thread…scroll to the verryyyyyyyyyyyy bottom (additional options or somewhere thereabouts) before you click ‘post’ and it will have an option to post a poll. click the box. then post thread. before thread actually posts, it will take you to another screen where you can determine question, how many options, if you want people to see who voted how, etc…

🙂
thanks… thoguht you had ignored me… like everyone else does… except the devil… 😃

joann1957: I’m not exactly sure why you are so hell-bent on proving that I am advocating not following the Commandments, after one is saved! So, I challenge you to find one of my posts, containing words similar to these,“I don’t feel that it is important to follow Christ’s Commandments, once you are saved!” If you are unable to find one(without misinterpreting my writings, then perhaps you should drop this attack! And whether or not one believes in OSAS or not, has nothing to do with following the Ten Commandments:p I know a man who has been a Christian for sixty(60) years, who tld me that he struggles daily and weekly, with following them. How bout if I put it this way; if your child misbehaves, and breaks the rules, do you still love him/her? Do you think, that because of grace, that when we sin occasionally, Jesus turns His back on us, or takes His love away? What about all of those famous people in the Bible that God chose to do His will; did they all follow every Commandment? Moses, David, Solomon, and on and on.
i know of people whose children are so “out there” they have very little … affection toward them anymore…They still love their children but from a distance… they certainly do not want to be around them…becasue they are stumbling blocks to their own walk with JEsus… and jesus said to hate everyone that takes you away from Him (paraphrase but He did use the word “hate”)… .They want their children to change and be what God wants… but last i heard, that wasn’t happening… so there is a separation and this is what happens when peple go to HEll… they separate themselves from their Father… by their own refusal to do what they are supposed to do… their refusal to become waht it is they should become to get to heaven, where no impure thing will enter… (thank God for Purgatory)… God cannot live where there is sin… it is not his fault people refuse to be with Him through their own choiices…

it is sin and our refusal to repent of it taht gets us to hell… this shows nothing at all about God’s love or mercy… it just shows us something about a particualr person and his/her choices…

Ah, yes, but grace does offer us a way to return to God when we stray:D Ever strayed, Joann, in your Christian walk? Ever broken a Commandment(the ones that are not grievious) and felt unworthy of being in God’s presence? Bcause of Christ’s finished work on the Cross, we are able to approach our Heavenly Father, and find comfort in His loving arms! Is it possible to keep every Commandment? Of course it is; with God all things are possible:thumbsup: The point that I have been tring to make is this: Because of our pride, selfishness, prejudice and stubborness, we have a difficult time keeping them ALL, all the time! Do you believe that when you hate someone, or don’t take the time to help another, ou are following His Commandments? Paul, I believe spent much time, explaining about ALL of the Law, and how it leads us to sin,and how it will never ever save us;) Our flesh will never submit to the will of God! By the grace of God, we are afforded the opportunity to repent when we do sin; we are not banished to Hell! I haven’t kept every Commandment, and I guarantee you haven’t either!

pepole should also try to avoid being bashined to Purg…

from all i have heard/read, Purg is just Hell that eventually ends… the lower levels being the most painful, of course… The lower level is for those who have the most sins to expiate… I heard Purg is excrutiating… But if pepole would just do waht Jesus says, ALL of what he says, they would do most of their Purg, if not all… in this life and would not have to go through excrutiating stuff later…

and we others who are thier victims wouldn’t either…

(gets pretty tiresome being around sin all the time… hatred… apathy… selishiness… un-Christ-like behavior… persecutions.)

That’s why I’m glad I don’t have to go to purgatory;) And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist, to understand, that Jesus means what He says, when He said, “If you love Me., you will keep My Commandments.” But He also understands that we, by virtue of our humanness, are vulnerable to temptation, greed, selfcentered behavior, pride, lust, envy,etc.,etc.,etc.! 1John 4:20 says,“For if you say you love God, and hate your brother(I believe this includes your fellow humans),you are a liar, because God is love.” Love and hate cannot coexist, and Christ said that the second greatest Commandment was to love others as yourself. Is it hard? Yes, it is very dificult to love everyone as yourself. WE all fall short, but thanks to grace, we can repent and turn back to God for forgiveness:thumbsup:

**The idea is, when and if we stray we strive not to offend God again , the whole idea is not to sin, since that is what sends a Christian to hell.

You can misquote Paul and what he is interpreting all you want, but the bottom line once again is, Jesus told us to follow and keep his commandments if one wants to enter into the kingdom.

So who is Hell for then ,??? The bible tells us continued unrepentive sinners go to Hell.
why are your excluded from falling from grace.?

You live be a doctrine that is man made, no offense, but that is what you represent.

And also the RCC has been the most scandlized church on earth since Jesus died.
The devils job is too do this to the one true church, its been his job since the beginning.

gotta love OSAS doctrine, its ranks as the number one man made doctrine.**

Do you think just because your faith doesn’t believe in purgatory, then it isn’t there? Everyone will have to be purged of their sins in order to gain keys to His Kingdom. Christ doesn’t have a booklet with 30,000+ different denominations explained in its pages so He gets everyone’s pathways straight when they die. Wouldn’t that be a little ridiculous? There will be purgatory for ALL, not just Catholics. That IS why Catholics are hated more by the devil. Because they believe in all sorts of purifying methods for one’s soul. You’ve already dumped purgatory and the devil actually likes you for that. You have succumbed to his ways of darkness by eliminating the Light that will guide you to Heaven. He doesn’t need to pester you as much, if at all.

And so this now pointless discussion comes to an end, with more muddling and semantics from you:p And for someone who doesn’t believe in OSAS(that would be all catholics), you certainly know a lot about it! And I never said we can’t keep them, just said it was difficult:rolleyes: And you never answered the question, have you kept them all? Are you able to love others as yourself? And no, I don’t agree that the devil hates catholics more than any one else; just wishful thinking on their(catholics) part! God bless you, and I will pray for deliverance from your naivete!

I do not profess OSAS, but I do question people about knowing for sure that they can and do lose their salvation, or they don’t:confused:If you are going to tell someone that they can lose their salvation, you should be prepared to tell them how they can, and even then you would not know for sure! And if you get the plank out of your eye, you would understand that I do not pick and choose my own doctrine. You know as well as I do, that Paul constantly exhorted believers not to fall back into their sinful ways, and that the Law(including the Ten Commandments) CANNOT save you!😉

Besides the priest sexual abuse scandal, what other “scandals” are plaguing the cc? And not to sound saecastic, but there probably aren’t a lot of people who feel sorry for you guys. I mean, when weighed against what the apostles, and Christians belonging to The Way(the early church) persecution today for the average catholic is nothing;)
