If so please state supporting data and your religion.

i am sure no on is born gay. I know someone who thought she was gay… lived that lifestyle for some time. Then she met someone, had kids… got religion. She now thinks same-sex relations are “disgusting”. I am sure there are many like her in the world.

An American researcher, widely reviled among gay interest groups, may have solved the mystery of male homosexuality. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name.

He argued, with some supporting evidence, that male homosexuals are very heterosexual when born, but between the age of 3 and 4 they permanently imprint homosexual if their fathers are emotionally or physically unavailable to these needful children. He called such boys “supermales” in his work, claimed to have a profile identifying them, and claimed that, once identified, if the fathers’ behavior is altered to make them a more significant presence in their child’s life, male homosexuality is wiped out.

His results correctly inferred that male homosexuality is a dysfunction (and so met severe opposition among gays, who felt “abused” by his results).

If he is right, male homosexuality is prewired, but not at birth.

why are they called supermales? are they more masculine somehow?? just wondering because Rock Hudson looked very masculine but… as you know…

In the Catechism of the Catholic church, it says they are that way through no fault of their own, That they are to be treated with respect & are called to Holiness & Chasity. I believe there are some self made Homosexuals , but I think the majority of them are born that way. I also dont know why they were created that way, But I think there is a reason unbeknown to us, as there are far to many of them throughout the world, for them to be a mistake, & I doubt they were created by the devil. You know there are people born with dual sex organs too

i think its all in the head… Once i got catechized, i became a totally different person, and yet the person i feel i was always meant to be… No, the one I KNOW i was meant to be… so maybe all those gay peole just need to be catechized…:o

No, I do not believe people are born “gay.” I believe that homosexuality is a sin propogated by the enemy of us all, namely Satan. My prayers go out to all who are “afflicted” by this sin. May they exchange their weakness for the strength of Jesus Christ. I also believe that sexual relations of any kind outside of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony are sinful. Let us all pray for purity of body and soul! “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Blessings to all,
KImberly

thanks. that is my thoguht. Sexuality gets very distorted these days… and homosexuality is just another form of that…

some saint said that more people go to HEll over sexual sins than any other kind… not hard to believe.

Hi. He called them “supermales” because the kids had an overwhelming desire to “be with dad.” In hunter-gathered times, 100,000 years ago, they would have been the kid who accompanied dad on hunts for meat.

So your saying that all of the priests that commited this sin were

influenced by satan, I dont believe that at all , homosexuals are God`s children too . There are still many gay priests throughout the church, they are maybe not practicing homosexuals, but they are there.

Nope.

A couple years ago I had a guest on my radio program who had been living a lesbian lifestyle until she became a Born Again Christian. Not only did she leave that lifestyle behind, but she is now married and she and her husband have a couple adorable children,

She openly admitted on the air that she became a lesbian because even the promiscuous lifestyle she was living with multiple male partners grew lukewarm so that she began experimenting with new ways to become aroused; thus woman/woman relationship.

*I believe people are born that way for the most part, and like the CCC states we need to provide them with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. When I was in college my Big Brother, who was (is still?) gay, talked to me about his homosexuality. He said he tried so hard to be what we would call “normal” … he dated different girls for a while, but he said it was never right. He says he did not want to be gay, but he was not able to be happy any other way.
I have lost touch with him over the years, but I can’t think of him any other way than gay. He was a very kind and thoughtful person, he would do anything for anyone … I doubt if that has changed either.

Are gay people born that way? Possibly. No one really knows the answer to that question, but it seems reasonable to suppose that biology plays a crucial role in determining sexual orientation since none of the purely psychological theories have panned out so far.

David Myers’ popular textbook on psychology has some information that relates to the OP’s question. Follow the link: davidmyers.org/davidmyers/assets/Sex-Orient-9e.pdf The most suggestive facts, to my mind, are the birth order effect, finger length ratios, and hair whirls.

You might be able to find some useful information through the wikipedia article on “Biology and sexual orientation.” Of course, you must take this resource with a grain of salt, but many of the claims are referenced.

Hope this helps.

Your post is most truthful, having known many many gay men over ther years, who just couldnt be any other way, who in their right mind would choose it, the struggle involved, the persecution many of them endured, some murdered because they were gay, some committed suicide because they couldnt face the fact that they were gay. Its a heavy cross indeed. I lived it too

It never ceases to amaze me how much intelligence and how much ignorance I read on many threads. This particular thread pulls from both…teachccd

There is a genetic component to being gay. Identical twins are more likely to both be gay than fraternal twins. This is a fact.

But it’s not 100% genetic, there are cases where one twin is gay and the other is straight. There are other factors, like the environment in the womb, like upbringing, and other things.

Scientists don’t yet know what exactly causes people to be gay.

I know several gay people and they cay they cannot control their same sex attraction. I believe that.

For as many gay people I know (it is somewhat true, this stereotype of California having more openly gay people than many other places), I honestly have no opinion on this one. Maybe they are born that way, maybe they are not. I will say this: I know many people who in their younger years tried very hard to be gay, for whatever reason, but had to finally admit to themselves that they are not gay. Several are now happily married in traditional marriages. Out of the dozen or so friends I knew in high school who claimed then to be gay or bisexual, I can only think of one who is still living that way today. Two if a woman who claimed to be gay, had a sex change operation after high school, and now, as a man, dates women still counts as “gay”, but…well, I’d prefer not to think too hard about that.

People are allowed to have their opinions , we have all seen different sides of life, none of us have lived or seen the same things in life.
