Do you believe there is one true church?

Amen to that. I would say the when Jesus said do not hinder the little children he wasn’t conveying the idea of sexually abusing them to keep from hindering them. How sad can it be that the person in the place of Christ (the priest) would pray on children in such a way. I would never subject my 3 year old son to this atrocity nor should anyone with any good sense regardless of the ridiculous infallible claims of the church! This is trully an abomination of God in the purest and most potent form!

That “atrocity” that you are spewing forth venom on is the Bride of Christ to me and other Catholics. Kindly reserve your ‘admonishment’ for the few men who disobeyed the law of the church and kindly do not extend their personal sin onto the billion people who make up the holy, Catholic, and apostolic church.

IOW, those men disobeyed Christ and His Church in their actions. Christ’s CHURCH has not done so and never will.
 
No, God is not the author of confusion. I would even go on to say that God is not the author of misery and IMO, denominational differences can create both. Maybe not for everyone, but for some.

Is there one true church? I think there should be. The truth, the real truth and not just various people guessing at what the truth is, is out there. Somewhere.:hmmm:

You have an agenda here. Sin is abundant and does not negate the fact that Jesus founded one true Church. Again, I repeat myself. The earliest apostolic church that Christ founded had a betrayer and one who denied Him. That DID NOT reduce the validity of His Church. It proves humanity. When Christ instituted the ministerial priesthood He used humans that He knew would fail Him at times. Same when He picked His apostles. ALL Christians sin.

YES, there is one true Church founded by Christ, sin and all.

Excuse me for being so bold sir but these FEW men you refer to are in your church’s own doctrine as those who are in the place of Christ behind the altar in the only church where the sacrements are trully celebrated, so before you go making excuses for your infallible church, you had better check the facts and the seriousness of the situation. The men that were many many more than the few you laid claim to have screwed up the lives of many good folks who put thier trust into the church and these so called men in the place of Christ. This makes me nausiated to put Christ into the same line as these priests.

You are speaking from ignorance and anger. Ignorant to the fact that the majority of priests would agree with you that these crimes are heinous and anger at the church for your own reasons. Neither invalidate the true Church of Christ. Look at your own Church. If you’re in it there’s sin and imperfection…:confused:
 
The true church is shown in Revelation chapter 12 and the false church in Revelation chapter 17. It was the church of Revelation 17 that persercuted the followers of the true church of Revelation 12, those who hold to the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I thank the Popes and the Catholic Church for telling us who they really are.
 
Just to put this argument out once and for all (at least in this thread):

EVERY majro religion/church in the world has had at least one Pastor/monk/leader/priest involved in sexual abuse at some time or another.

So Travellar1534, find a new reason why you’re not Catholic, because your church isn’t free from this sin either.

Its NOT the church thats at fault my friend its the people that are the sinners. Just open the newspaper and look around you sin is everywhere.

According to Jesus, there’s only one way to join His church. Believe in the Gospel and repent. There’s no other way.

You are right, Traveller that Satan has truly attacked the Bride in the deepest sanctuary. Such attacks against purity and truth are scandalous to all. However, you do sound like someone who has an agenda, and are using the attacks as an excuse to avoid the truth of the Teachings.

You are off topic, Traveller. If you have a personal issue because members of the body of Christ have sinned against you, or against someone else, and you are scandalized by it, then there is help available for you. This forum will probably not cure you of your nausea.

The Apostles would be ashamed if they could see how todays Catholic Church acts. Sitting on all wealth and letting people in Africa to die of lack of food and water.

We must be worshipping a different Jesus, my friend.

I would go so far as to say, that one would have to deny Christ and basically call Him a liar, if one were to deny that Christ founded one Church and that Church doesn’t exist today. Personally, I knew Christ would keep His promises to us, and that’s how I found the Catholic Church. Christ would never break the promise He gave to us in Matthew 16:18-20.
