yes, I too feel the need to share what Christ has done for me and I have had ***some ***success in the past (I think!) I keep slipping into OT prophet mode, however, (fire and brimstone stuff) which does not gel with my message of God’s love so well (at least not in my mind).

‘Holy leisure’ is a very different thing from most of the normal things we pursue for relaxation though … I think very few people ‘listen to Him’ when they’re in the gym, watching TV (unless it’s EWTN or something) or on the internet (again, unless it’s CAF or something similar).As confusing as my life is, i feel that i have to spend time in this kind of holy leisure… because i really don’t know what i am supposed to do about a few things… so i need to listen o Him… and it is important that i get certain things “right”… because, well, some people in my life are hard to… deal with and if i say/do the wrong thing… then… well… you know how it goes… :banghead: :whacky:
and not only that… watching Tv causes one to be distanced from Jesus in a big way. I ought to know… I am committed to my faith… and feel i am fairly strong… but when i watch certain shows (dont’ anymore, of course)… i feel… like i am in a different world (and i am)… and that that world is affecting me every minute i watch… eroding my … well, not my faith, but something… I just get this icky, diabolical-type of feeling… and evne fall into mild depression… because i feel so lonely in that other world… a world where there is no Jesus (no perfect Friend… No perfect Lover… No one who accpets me as i am without money, prestige, etc…). TV glorifies all those things… as though we are somehow in this world to pursue wealth and health and prosperity…when Jesus told us just the opposite… We are put here to get to Heaven any way we can… we are to pluck out our right eye if it offends us. TV is SO offensive… I don’t think a true Crhistian will watch much of anything on TV…
I am not married but am discerning a call to religious life. Talking about Purgatory, I would be glad to go to be honest. There is no difference between that and heaven in the eternal scheme of things. But Hell, well that’s a whole new ball gamewow… you and i are so much alike… (are you married?

But i suffer from this myself… not knowing whether to stress God’s love and mercy or God’s wrath…
Some people think that God’s wrath disappeared with the Resurrection…
I tend to think they are in for a big surprise when they die and end up in the Purgatory they never believed in…
However, I think if someone committed that sin they wouldn’t be worried about time wasting and nor would they be asking questions on a Catholic forum about it. They just wouldn’t care.i’m not sure i comprendo…I
I don’t think that Hell is a place for time wasters as such, unless the mortal sin of sloth is involved.
