Do you ever feel like you're not getting any 'supernatural' assistance?

I read online in different blogs and posts on here about people who were spirialing into sin and then at just the right moment a grace comes to them. Examples, meeting a paticular person that helps them get their life in order, somebody saying a paticular thing that sets them on a new path, etc. etc.

I feel that in a time when I need something like that most…nothing.

It’s as if I’m being left alone to destroy myself.

Can anybody relate?

during those times of abandonment, when I have worked through it, and look back later, I see clearly how I was being bombarded by grace and mercy throughout the whole experience, yet had inoculated myself against it through clinging to sin, bitterness, resentment and pride in one or more areas of life. when I am walking outside at dusk, as it is getting darker and darker, the streetlights come on, and I can barely see them they are so faint, I hardly notice them. by the time I get home it is so dark the one streetlight by my house lights up the whole sky

I can relate, but eventually I realized that those were times when I was being given an opportunity to use some spiritual muscle I didn’t realize I had and for faith-building. Now I know He’s not really gone. He’s sort of like a parent who stops holding the bike for a few minutes to let you ride by yourself. If he kept holding it, you’d never learn to balance on your own and you’d never try to ride alone. He gives little ‘signs and wonders’ when a person really needs them, not when they want them. If you’re not getting them, it may be that you’re more capable of faithfulness and overcoming temptation than you think and God’s trying to make you see that and act on it.

When you say, “It’s as if I’m being left alone to destroy myself”… what are you looking at? Which way are you facing?

I have been there too. Felt “alone” even with others around me. The connection seemed lost. I could be superficial with others, but the Heart was not in it. It was only after the fact that I discovered a deeper level of Heart felt connection with others (and God). It’s was almost like going through winter “Knowing” Spring is coming. We all go through growth and level-off, then growth and level-off again… we can only eat so much before we are full, then we go until we are hungry again before eating.

Does one look for food when full? It’s time for digestion then, not more food. Know too, the whole Earth and everything and everyone on it is Christ’s, He can work through any or all of it. One just has to look to see Him… anywhere one looks.
