Its a long story, but sometimes i feel that i will never overcome certain “things” in my life, things that are not… or probably are not… the way God wants them…
I could be a little scrupulous… but anyway… I just want to live up to my potential and do all that God seems to want me to do… and yet, i always seem to come up short… I am getting “old” and feel that i have “missed the boat” 😦 , meaning i haven’t accomplished all that i could or should have accomplished…
If you feel the same way, it would be nice to hear your testimony… I sometimes feel like starting a Losers Anonymous group 😃

No, satan I’m not worried about. It’s myself I have a problem overcoming. Have you looked into the divine mercy Sunday indulgence? It is an awesome gift for those of us that are late to wake up. Hang in there, distracted, you haven’t lost. Tim

Hi distracted, I’m Belle 👋

Don’t give up! Jesus is with you always (Matthew 28:20), you are not a loser (Genesis 1:27 and Psalm 139:14), and with Jesus you can do anything (Philippians 4:13). Most importantly, you are a beloved child of God! He wouldn’t have sent His Son to die for you (John 3:16) if you weren’t important. Remember this:
“Each person is given something to do that shows us who God is.” ~ 1 Corinthians 12:7

Everyone has tough days, but you can overcome Satan with Jesus’ help. He has already won! My mom told me she read this somewhere, and I love it:
“When Satan is knocking at your door, simply ask, Jesus, will you get that for me please?” 😉

If you feel like you are called to do something for God but haven’t yet (don’t we all struggle with that from time to time?!) remember this:
“The future starts today, not tomorrow.” ~Pope John Paul II

Prayers going up for you… :gopray2:

I’m so glad that he is PHYSICALLY with us in the Blessed Sacrament! I grow very close to Him there… i almost didn’t find out about the Blessed Sacrament/Real Presence… A priest told me about it years ago… .I was raised Catholic but not taught the faith… What a loss… But at least i know now… thanks to some interesting events that made me want to learn…

It’s interesting that I never feel like a loser when i am with Jesus…(except that my sins cause me to feel very messed up and in need of serious REPAIR - repair that only His powerful Presence/healing touch can accomplish). The only problem is that i am so busy and cannot always be in his Presence… :crying:

I really appreciate this remark… I kind of knew it in my head but my heart had long forgotten its truth… thanks for reminding me.
In light of this statement, my life doesn’t seem so “wasted”.- as the devil would have me believe. I see in the crosses i carry (which are seemingly unbearable at times :hypno: :ouch: very heavy…) a lot of meaning. … I learn a lot of things i need to learn (painful as that is)…

this is a good one also… 🙂

thank you very much for your prayers… especially pray to St. Michael to kick the devil’s —, that should take care of things! 😃

Thank you so much for your encouragement. No, i haven’t tried the Mercy Sunday indulgence, to speak of… Is there some web site i can go to for help in learning this? Thanks. God bless… 🙂 .

Sometimes I feel that way. We all do, I’m sure. But here’s the rub…the thought that we “can’t overcome” is from guess who? Satan!!

It’s Satan who wants us to believe this lie. I heard Father Corapi talk about how Satan used to try to discourage him, telling him he could never be a priest. Could Satan have not been more wrong? 😃

I guess that is a better way of putting things… It really is my SELF that is the problem and not Satan per se… although he preys on my weaknesses, to be sure…

An act of mercy during lent, confession during holy week or after, communion on divine mercy sunday and veneration of the image of divine mercy. This year as I kissed the feet of Jesus on the image of divine mercy on the sunday after Easter (divine mercy sunday), I felt it was completed in my heart. What a gift the Lord has for us in this. Tim

While I love being in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as well, remember that Jesus is also always with you in everything you do. Just whisper His name and you’ll be reminded that He’s there…sometimes, when I’m down, I picture Him sitting next to me at work, or in the car, or whatever, and it really helps. ❤️
In light of this statement, my life doesn’t seem so “wasted”.- as the devil would have me believe.
Don’t listen to Satan’s lies. Listen to the Voice of Truth, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Satan might seem louder sometimes, but he’ll never be right.
thank you very much for your prayers… especially pray to St. Michael to kick the devil’s —, that should take care of things! 😃
You got it. 👍 We all need help from each other. Just remember that when Satan tries to tell you lies, all you have to do is tell him that your heart, mind, body, and soul belong to Jesus. That’ll scare him. 😃

Of course you can’t win against Satan. Satan cheats. So don’t play with him, then you can’t lose to him.

You on your own can’t. You and Christ can, together. Just call on Him for help - he certainly wants to help you defeat Satan much more than you could possibly want to defeat him!

There’s no such thing as being ‘too old’ to be reconciled to God or to live according to his will - St Augustine and his father both lived for decades in sin, but died reconciled and Augustine having become a great saint. So did our CAF favourite Fr John Corapi.

Even if you have only three years left to you on this earth - that was time enough for Jesus to achieve the Father’s will for Him, no? He promised that whoever believed in Him would do as great works as He did, rely on that promise, He is faithful to it.

Salvation of mankind excepted of course, but God doesn’t require that of you or any of us 😃

I like that word Repair. It is the title of a poetry book by C. K. Williams. As Catholics we do have our own Repair kits which are the seven sacraments: especially Holy Communion and Confession, and if you can not recieve Holy Communion because you are under the state of a Mortal Sin you can always make a Spiritual Communion: a Communion allowing Jesus to enter your heart because you are not able to recieve the Host. Remember a spiritual communion has a partial induglence attached to it.

Another answer to your question is that I sometimes feel that I may have missed the boat on what God wants me to do with my life, however, I try to always turn it around and say God knew this would happen and my life is still being written as we speak. Start a new chapter and strive for no less than becoming a Saint. Don’t stay caught up in mortal sin. We are not slaves anymore. Jesus freed us from the bondage of sin! I see the Saint in you at what ever age you are at! Now can you see it?

“The only sorrow in Heaven is to not have been a Saint.”

Jesus is also always with you in everything you do. Just whisper His name and you’ll be reminded that He’s there…
I do this but sometimes i forget to do it and therefore, I can easily succum to the notion that Jesus is nowhere to be found… except at theBlessed Sacrament… The Name of Jesus is probably the most powerful (non-Mass) prayer there is…
Don’t listen to Satan’s lies. Listen to the Voice of Truth, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Satan might seem louder sometimes, but he’ll never be right.
It is easier to hear the voice of the evil one because he is the ruler ofthe this earth… (for the most part).
. Just remember that when Satan tries to tell you lies, all you have to do is tell him that your heart, mind, body, and soul belong to Jesus. That’ll scare him. 😃 This is exactly why the devil is attackng me so much thse days - He knows he can’t do certain things to me anymore so he just tries 2 make my life miserable in other ways… But oh well… Jesus is more powerful… Why i have a hard time remembering that is beyond me… Well, it really isn’t. I have seen and experienced so much evil and hate that its no wonder I tend to think/feel that’s all there is… (very long story)…
Thanks for the encouragement.

2 Corinthians 12 (New International Version)
9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Jeremiah 29 (New International Version)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

I told Satan i didn’t want to play with him, but he said i had to… 😃

Oh, that’s right - He’s the father of all lies…

God bless… 🙂

Thank you so much for this scripture. I had forgotten about it.
Jeremiah 29 (New International Version)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
Thanks for this one also… another one i had forgotten. I guess the devil has me too distracted to rememeber Scripture…
Or i am just weak in that i don’t recall the ones i need at the time i need thm… But oh well… my strength is not too good… as the first verse says… 😦

My take on the topic such as, “Losers Anonymous” sounds more like “Self-Pity Anonymous.” We have to learn to get “out of ourselves” and concentrate on the power of Heaven and the power od redemption by Our Savior.

As for being prisoner to Satan merely acknowledege that just ONE small angel from the Throne of God is capable of warding off all the minions of hell. It (angel of God) is THAT powerful.

I don’t feel like I can’t win against satan; I know that I can’t win against satan.
But I also know Who can win!!👍 👍

God bless.
