Do you ever thank God that you were created?

People are always predicting when the End will come.
Many times in the past they have said that such-and-such date is the end of the world.

Sometimes I think that if the end had come before 1956, I would never have been born. Sometimes I just thank God that he allowed me to be created and born.

But what about the people who will not get created when the end DOES come? Here is what I am driving at:

For whatever reasons or motives, God creates us out of love, not because He HAS to, but because He is compelled to. When we are created in His Image, that means to me that we are all a tiny little piece of Himself…kind of like an extension. He just wills it and it is.

I think that is why He loves us so much and wants us all to be saved…He wants to bring that part of Him back to Himself. This is what the Communion of Saints means to me…the we are all one body thing.

But by granting us all individual souls and personas, when we finally get to be in His Presence, we return to Him Who Made us in a form that allows us greater joy, peace and happiness on an individual level.

It is a win-win situation…God wins by spreading his Infinite Love all around (creating us to love Him).

And of course, we win by being the recipients of this gift, and by being allowed (hopefully) to experience this love in person.

I believe this is why God creates us. He does not NEED us, but since His Love is so vast and infinite, this is his way of spreading it, so to speak.

But this goes back to my early comment…with a finite end of time in the future, will God then stop creating new human souls? What about the people who would have been born the day after, but never were? Why should I be so lucky and blessed to be created, but not the next people?

Granted, before I was created, I knew nothing, but it seems to me that God could, if He wanted keep creating new souls for an eternity, it would never stop. There could be no finite number of souls. Certainly it is not limited by God…since His love is infinite, it’s not like He could ever “run out”. Thus He would have an infinite number of souls to share Love with, and an infinite number of people who could also experience this great Love in His Presence.

He could just say “Pop!”…a new soul created, and a new person who would (or should) say “thank you for creating me, and not stopping right BEFORE you created me”. And this could go on and on forever.

I guess my point is, do any of you feel that just because the end will eventually come, will God then stop creating new souls? Since anything is possible with God, He could have other methods of creating souls that we are not aware of.

Bottom line, though, is we just cannot comprehend eternity, can we?
 
Interesting reflection. You are right, we just cannot comprehend eternity, but we can all give God our endless thanksgiving.

Yes, because I was an “accident” in the pre-Roe v. Wade years. Just a few years separate me and a lot of exterminated people. Maybe it’s like getting out of Nazi-controlled countries right before the Holocaust began and surviving.
 
Yes I do thank God for my life and I also thank Him for all those He has created.

These are my immediate thoughts: When the end of the world comes as the Father should will it to cease at that given time only He knows, then no more souls will be created embodied in the flesh. I am sure of this because it is stated in Sacred Scripture and the Word is Eternal and though eternity is infinite it is also present in the Eternal moment. Eternity pivots around the Incarnation, Death and Ressurrection of Christ Jesus and so does all of human history because by His undertaking this sacrifical offering He, in His Divine nature which is Eternal thus making this act Eternal as the Father willed it. We are currently living history out in retrospect of the pivotal events at Calvary, which at Mass we may enter into because it is an eternal moment. For men eternity entered into time at Calvary in, by and through Christ Jesus and therefore the world and men enter into Eternity mystically at Calvary in by and through Christ Jesus and the ‘door’ to the Father was opened and the door is Christ Jesus made known to men by the power of the Holy Spirit.

All the souls that have ever been created and are yet to be created are in the will of the Father and thus though yet to come or once were or now presently exist on earth are present to Him in the eternal moment and so the Father knows the full sum of the number He will create and it is infinite in nature because of His will and not because of number. Therefore the number can be fixed, but the nature of the number is eternal.

I suppose if you begin to count and start at one for the sake of argument because you equally could start at minus one or even further, but let’s start at one. Bear with me as I am no whizz at maths nor am I a philosopher nor am I a scientist. So we begin to count and we soon realise that we can always add one more to whatever number we reach thus as we all know to number is infinite. Does this mean because numbers are infinite and God is infinite that He will continue to create infinite numbers of human creatures? If we think about the Holy Trinity we find God is one in Three Persons, Father, Son and Spirit, we know there is a limit of Three Persons even though God is infinite by Diving Revelation and upheld by the Church. Moreover though God is One and is Three Persons the Infinite nature is individual to each of the Three Persons of the Trinity and the same. Therefore the infinite nature of God is not linked to vastness of number because all of infinity is contained within the Three who are One; God. Therefore number is not an accurate reflection of the vastness of infinity as infinity is small in number yet it is vast.

We could similarly say then that man made in the image and likeness of Christ Jesus is not linked to vastness of number (of persons) but the vastness of what is within the number (of persons), this being Christ Jesus as all souls are eternal and will either be eternally with the Father (eternal life) or eternally in hell (eternal death).

When God created you, you were eternally known to Him. He knew you before you were formed and He knew what you would do and all of your life and your eternity. This is the same for all people and angels God has created.

At the end of the world God will not stop creating. Then at the end He will create the new heavens and the new earth and He will establish His Kingdom forever and His adopted sons and daughters in Christ Jesus will partake in this sharing in all Divine actions thus mystically operating within the Divine nature themselves and though we cannot imagine nor know how this will be nor can we begin to grasp here where we see all things dimly, but we know that we shall be like Him eternally.

If we also consider that the Angels we created in the beginning and that no more Angels have been created and they have all made their choice to serve or not to serve, then we can recognise that our Guardian Angel was before we was and so the number of Guardian Angels are complete from the beginning so that all men may be gifted with a Guardian Angel. Therefore if this stands against argument, then the number of Guardian Angels has set the number of men and vice versa.

These are great mysteries to meditate upon, but there will come a time when the number of God’s children is complete as they are already complete in the will of the Father in the Eternal moment.

God is Love and only Love endures forever and so whoever lives in Love lives in God and whoever lives in God, God lives in him and this is Eternal Life and nothing else.

I thank God for my life and others as well. In thinking about my own life I sometimes pause and think, “Wow, I am a living being, with a mind, body and soul.” How amazing! I can communicate with others and they can communicate with me. Awesome! Add on to this, God was born in the flesh: the incarnation and he knows my limitations and weaknesses. Outstanding!! Bravo!! Bravo!!! Marvellous and magnificent Creator!!!
 
I do. I also thank God for bringing people into my life. Without them, I would’ve been lost.

God helps us through other people in our lives.
 
I thank God for all He does with, for, and to me, no matter what. I have beautiful gifts, and am able to share the love of God openly so that makes all things even better, because I bring smiles and change to many in our main hospital where I work.
What a gift.
Not I, but the Lord through using me.

When I consider that the earth is spinning around in the wonderful endless vastness of space and all we humans walking about and living and loving on this beautiful earth, yes - I thank God for the wondrous matter that is my being and that of others - for the wonder that is the whole of creation and its existence - it truly is a thought to stun. Lord that we may see, Lord that we may indeed see. Amen…Barb:)
 
Even as a kid, I would thank God…when I was young, the good nuns that taught us would ask us to donate something to help the “pagan” babies who were hungry. I remember doing little things around the house to earn a dime or quarter that I would gladly donate, in thanksgiving to God for letting me born in the US to parents who did not let us go hungry.

Now that I am an adult, I am overwhelmed by the blessing that God has given…never more than I need, but I am never hungry.

Honestly, I haven’t got to this level of maturity yet and never considered it. I’ve actually have felt cursed by my actions as a teen. My life has been difficult and for the last few years agonizing. I don’t expect better, but I haven’t been thankful for it either. Maybe it will get worse and I can be thankful for now a little more later. Tim
 
I always think of the reading Jesus gave that relates something like “If my people don’t praise God then the very rocks will”.
Wow! to think that God made mankind from the dust and from that dust came stone …to rocks what does this tell us?

For every thing give thanks.
I along with others have gone through hell and back and it is in these times especially I give thanks to God for finding that He can change me through this and His putting me with people who rub like sandpaper to get the rough surfaces off me, makes it all worth it.
In all things give thanks.

I have a habit of saying I hate my life a lot of the time since I am often in a bad mood, stressed out, or just upset for whatever reason. However, I made a compromise that every time I say to myself how I hate my life, which I really don’t by the way, I have to always add the phrase, but I am so glad God created me and acknowledge that I am thankful for my existence.
