Do you feel more at ease with priests/religious who wear street clothes?

Surprised to see this thread become an arguement, I can see both sides of the issue.

I voted according to my interpretation of the question which was, Do you feel more at ease with priests/religious who wear street clothes.

While I feel comfortable either way and understand everyone needs downtime, yet I feel more comfortable around them when they dress in clerics/habits.

I think my instant vote comes from the fact that I have not yet seen my local spiritual directors wear anything but street clothes and think it would be nice to see them wear the clerics/habits once in awhile.

I just have a funny story. One day one of our priests was washing his car and he was in shorts and a T shirt and very wet. He stopped into my office to ask about something. I had just received an item that I needed blessed and asked him to do it. He hesitated, and said, “Like this?”, pointing to his clothing. I asked him if the blessing was invalid if he wasn’t dressed in his clerics. He stood quiet for a second, then blessed my item. He felt more uncomfortable than I did. But I don’t know why. I have been around him without him wearing clerics too many times to count…even been to confession with him in jeans and a T shirt.
