I’m talking about chicken, beef, and pork. I first had an extreme experience while preparing chicken for the first time. I found it to be very gross washing the pieces of mutilated chicken. It was a very strong experience that made me feel gross being human and I became a vegetarian. Today I eat all kinds of meats, but I still remember my first experience and I still feel gross being human and having to eat mutilated animals.

I don’t know what you mean by mutilated, but I do like my meat butchered before cooking. Fits in the pot or on the grill better that way!

Peace

Tim

You might look for a professional butcher. Then the cuts of meat will look good, not mutilated. Unless you’re buying cube steak - it’s supposed to look that way.

Do you find eating chicken embryos disgusting too?

I also don’t know what you mean by mutilated. I don’t mind eating meat that has been butchered into parts.

But I do mind fish that was very alive and then only half of the fish is cooked, leaving the head part out of the heat, so that the eyes and mouth still move as it is placed on the plate.

That I won’t eat.

Mutilated = to cut up into pieces. I mean it the same as butchered.

Do you find eating dogs the way they do in China to be gross? If yes, then why not with other animals. I think we grow so accustomed to eating butchered animals that it seems the normal thing to do.

I don’t find it disgusting…just the most efficient way to do it. We mutilare our bread and vegetables in the same way to fit them into our mouth, do we not?

As to dogs, or other animals, nope…not bothered by that at all.

We are bothered by it because we consider those animals to not be for eating. Similarly, a hindu is probably disgusted that we eat cow. At the face of it, no, I am not disgusted. Animals were put on earth to serve us, part of that serving is as food.

Though, the thought of someone eating a cat makes me incredibly sad… I love kitties T_T

I could eat dog, assuming it tastes decent. However, if said dog had been someone’s cherished pet and stolen from them and killed, I would find that rather upsetting. It would be the harm to the person that bothered me.

What if beings from another planet decided to eat humans?

I think some people would have a problem with eating dogs or cats because they view them as pets, that is, companions, rather than as a source of food. Personally, I think it’s just a cultural difference and I have no ethical or moral problem with eating dog or cat or horse meat, any more than I have a problem with eating cow or chicken or pig or deer or turkey or fish or rabbit or snake… or, for that matter, eggs, dairy, and even plants and fungi.

I appreciate and respect that they are God’s creation, and I try to always remember to thank Him for giving us our food from His bounty. :gopray

But find it disgusting? Nope, not at all.

Governments use road kill to feed prisoners and the poor. Deer, Elk, Caribou, Wild Boar, Bears and Cows. Not so sure if Skunks, Porcupine, and Possum, Wolves and Coyotes fall somewhere on that list. If its deemed safe to eat what so disgusting about it.🤷

Nothing against vegetarians; I have family members who are vegans to a certain degree. However; where do multilated vegatables fall on this list? .😉

Oh no! what could be worse eating a mutilated Gingerman cookie!
Noooo! Not the button, Not my gumdrop buttons.

Sorry for the slight humor:D

Butchered is not the same as mutilated though.

Butchered means the meat is properly prepared for cooking and eating. Mutilated means it has been abused, ripped, torn etc.

Like just decided? Oh, let’s go eat some humans?

Come on Robert: humans - we are rational animals, and we have a soul.

Livestock are not rational, nor do they have a soul, nor do the breeds exist except to provide food for humans.

Cows would not exist unless we wanted them to provide milk, or meat, or pull something.

Not at all. I quite prefer my meals with the hair and entrails removed prior to cooking.

I certainly would find it disgusting, and I think most people would. The eggs you buy at the supermarket are supposed to be unfertilized. Of course, sometimes mistakes are made and a fertilized egg with a partially formed chicken embryo gets mixed in. I think you’d be entitled to a refund for that carton of eggs.

Um, dog as a food item isn’t limited to China.
