A Pentecostal church like victory worship center vwcaz.org is a fun place to praise and worship.
When everyone is singing and are glad they are there with believers its like a
concert for God. With a teaching
It makes Sunday a joyfilled time

Is your church spiritually full filling?

I’ve never been so spiritually fulfilled now that I’m Catholic. Protestantism could never satisfy the deep hunger I had for God.

I often experience great joy at Mass, but I never find it…fun…

The Catholic mass is beautiful and it is true. Protestant services are, in my opinion, neither.

As @RKS89 said the mass is very joyful. “Joy” and “fun” might on the surface seem to be very similar, but one is shallow (fun) while the other is profound (joy).

I personally find Protestant worship not anywhere near as good as Mass. Sure, there’s “fun” and singing and games and all that stuff, but it’s missing something that’s real important: the Eucharist. The Mass is the ultimate form of worship and praise. As a Catholic knowing the fullness of the truth, Protestant worship actually makes me kind of sad when I’m there because I think “These people don’t know what they’re missing and how much closer to Christ and God they can be through the Blessed Sacrament and his Church.” Most of these worship centers and churches don’t even have an altar, just a stage, even if they refer to it as an altar for some reason.

I do enjoy the music that is celebrated in a Protestant church as I love upbeat music. However, since I have a good understanding of the mass and I have learned the importance of the Eucharist and have come to love this part of the mass.

We sing beautiful songs at mass too. Plus we have the organ. The songs we sing just aren’t “pop” songs that you might hear on the radio. But, full disclosure, I don’t really know what they’re singing at evangelical churches these days. I suppose it varies pretty wildly.

I’m not going to church for a good time.
The Mass is the unbloody sacrifice of Christ crucified. I don’t think Mary, John and Mary Magdalene were dancing joyfully around the foot of the cross.

While certain feast days like Easter and Christmas are joyous and that is reflected in things like the music, decorations and Scripture readings, Mass in general is not a party. It’s a solemn celebration and we approach it that way.

As for it being uplifting, yes it frequently gives my spirit a needed boost, mostly because I get to be in Christ’s physical presence and receive Him and this gives me grace and strength.

You do not base your spiritual satisfaction on good feelings.

The mass is for God primarily. It’s not about fitting our needs and wants. The mass isn’t supposed to be “fun.” It’s the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross in propitiation for our sins. That’s not “fun,” that’s solemn and grave.

I actually prefer the older hymns and like how formulaic the mass is but that’s just me.

As for feeling fulfilled I have good weeks, bad weeks and ok weeks.

I don’t want fun or a concert ,I want holy and reverent.
Sunday Is a joy filled time.Absolutly spiritually fulfilling
everytime I receive Jesus in Holy Communion.
God bless 🙂

I prefer the solemnity and holiness of the Mass and the Orthodox Divine Liturgy. It is not “fun”, but joyous and beautiful.

My spiritual fulfillment does not come from attending church, but from serving others, the practice of active Christianity.

I don’t think Church aught to be about fun. At least for us Catholics, it’s a time when we GIVE to Our Lord. We are there to listen, to worship, and to love Him. Personally, I love Our Catholic Mass. Everything about it makes your mind go to the sacred. I’m not saying events such as these don’t have their place. Youth groups or even Church camping trips and such have to be fun. However, mass isn’t supposed to be fun. We enjoy it and love it, but it’s just not the aim you know?

I don’t think I can describe how it feels to receive the Holy Eucharist after properly preparing for such a beautiful union.

Whilst I second was has been generally said on this forum Mass can be “fun” in the traditional sense of the word too. It’s always really nice to be there and as some said tends to bring joy big time.

Friend, you make it sound like worship is all about US…what WE feel…
For Catholics, worship is primarily about sacrifice. We offer ourselves as living sacrifices, to quote the words of the Apostle, and unite our offering to the unbloody sacrifice of the Eucharist on the altar. The Mass is first and foremost about Christ and the worship He is due.

I would have said the same thing 5 years ago, but that all changed when I stepped foot in a Catholic Church for Mass for the first time in my life. When I went back to my usual evangelical fun place, the veil had been removed, the lustre was gone, and I felt they were trying desperately to entertain my senses so I would come back next week and I walked out feeling empty.

Youth groups or even Church camping trips and such have to be fun. However, mass isn’t supposed to be fun.
Right, if we want to have “fun” we do a social activity, which may include prayers, or happen before or after a Mass, but the Mass itself is not the “fun” part.

Also if we want to feel all jazzed about music and preaching, we go to a retreat that offers these things, again either before or after a Mass.
Mass is not about the music and it’s not even about the preaching. My mother always said, “We don’t go to Mass to listen to the priest talk.”
This to me is a huge difference from Protestant services. Most of those revolve around the fact that some minister is going to teach or talk. Catholic Mass revolves around the Eucharist.

Catholic Mass is the most awesome experience ever. I am filled with a deep blissful joy and peace. I don’t think it should be all fun and games, it is far too deep for those sorts of trivial feelings for me. Each to their own though. I do come out of mass with love in my heart and a glow of utter bliss and joy so profound that I cannot ever find the words to express it. It is like nothing I have ever experienced anywhere else, I am utterly and willingly captured by the Eucharist. I’d never want nor have any need to try anything else.
