Do you frequent other internet forums?

When I first joined the Internet, I was on every forum there was. Even ran a couple of boards and was a moderator on another for awhile.
I did that too for a bit, but it was like being in the wild west with Yosemite Sam shooting up the saloon.

One or two. A lot of the forums I used to frequent have become much quieter or died. Most news organizations have removed their fora in favor of Facebook or some other social media platform, or made them subscriber-only (like I am going to pay money to a newspaper just so I can make comments that they ignore? I don’t think so) or because their advertisers and others complained about the plethora of comments that are either outright rude/ racist, or just “politically incorrect”.

I used to be on the imdb forums.

The games were fun.

Often the discussion of films and tv shows were wacky and offensive.

The nicer discussion area was probably the I love Lucy board, but even that one could be heated.

They actually removed the forums all together.

They what!!!? When? I used to love those forums.

Recently, within the last year or so. They were getting over run with trolls. I stopped going a while ago.

I did like the section with the games. Bakers dozen was a fun game. Someone would post a topic, and then youpost an answer until you got 13.

Like name a film with a scene in the rain .

No other forums but I regularly take a look at one or two newspaper and magazine sites and one or two blogs. Since the Catholic Herald closed its comments threads I don’t go there so much nowadays – the comments threads were often more interesting than the OPs. I still go regularly to Archbishop Cranmer, an Anglican blog frequented by commenters of all religions and none.

Speaking of magazines, I like First Things and Chronicles.

First Things very often goes over my head but it is so good.

I used to frequent some television related forums (the X-files, 24, SG1) but most of them have been closed or largely abandoned. As has been mentioned, some of those folks have moved to Facebook and I’ve maintained contact with a few people that way. I’ll occasionally check out the forums that are still open.

I have a Facebook account and a Twitter account but CAF are the only forums I visit regularly.

One other Coin Community Forums.
U.S. coins/ errors and vatieties.

BBQ and cycling forum. I’ve been in several others for various short-lived interests.

I go to 14ers.com some, from time to time. It has a good bunch of outdoor people.

If you want to know of something that has to do with the outdoors in Coloardo, hiking, camping, climbing. This is a good place to ask questions. Friendly, helpful bunch of outdoor folks.

Other than that. not so much.

We do have a forum but we only speak in Entish. So it can be a bit slow. Typing can be a chore.

Bad Joke alert!!

Maybe instead of typing you should all Ent whistle.

I guess it’s so bad I have not got it yet. 😃 Let me dredge a few neurons out of the backyard. I left them in the gardening shed with the fertilizer. They might help me understand this Irish lassies humor. 🤔

OK, that was so bad I had to take away 27 neurons of my 100 before I could understand. Thankyou Irishmom for putting me to the test.
