šŸ˜ƒ break given ā€¦I am smiling, itā€™s hard to express humour on these boards, no tone of voice, no intonation or gestures are able to be shown.

The main thing to hold to your heart, is that if we are such a worthless show of rabble, why would Our Lord die for us? So we are very important to God, loved so much so, we cannot grasp the height, weight or depth of His love, so vast it is. Just do your best, love His laws, love Him and do your very best. Trust the Holy Father and his guidance of you, but if you fall , you are in Christ, able to stand again, in the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, you are never left needing or left to worry.

We are all different, all unique and each one of us has a particular way of loving God. I know I have learnt alot from other people and from people on these message boards. I read a piece written by a Priest, canā€™t remember his name, but what he said was that we are each unique in our love for God that God misses something dearly when we do not talk to Him, God saysā€¦ā€˜Where is my Teresa (or any of His children, insert your name)?ā€™ if I donā€™t talk to Him, because each of us come to Him in different ways, in our own way of loving Him, even within His Church.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

I voted ā€œnoā€ because I sin. Though I do not fully agree with a few of our Catholic teachings I do try to abide by all of them, though I fail often. I am going through a huge spiritual change currently, however, and am seriously questioning my past disagreement with some of the teachings, and am beginning to accept those teachings more readily now. Perhaps I am going through a deeper conversion. I pray I am! Many blessings to everyone!

I voted ā€œotherā€. I try, but Iā€™m stubborn. šŸ˜‰

Iā€™ll be put to the test for the next several months. I was on the Pill for a few years, went off of it several months ago, and weā€™ve been trying to get pregnant, with no luck. I found out yesterday that my current job will be terminated at the end of December, and now I need to find a new one (at least now I know why God hasnā€™t given us a child yet- Iā€™m trying to imagine combining morning sickness and job interviews). Weā€™ve learned NFP, and it will be a test of faith to stick to that and not go back on some form of artificial contraception.

Sounds like you are doing just thatā€¦ going thorugh a deeper conversion.

If you do not accept all catholic teachings, can you really call yourself a catholic?? Jesus gave us rules/teachings, we either accept them or we donā€™tā€¦we canā€™t say ā€œOh I like this one, but not that oneā€ you either take all or nothing.

True we may not always follow them perfectly, and we WILL sin, but we HAVE to accept ALL catholic teachings, or we are rejecting Jesus.

Yes, you can. I donā€™t remember Jesus saying one word about contraception.

I try not to know too much. What you donā€™t know wonā€™t hurt ya. Ignorance is bliss. šŸ˜ƒ

No but He did give the power to bind and loose to the apostles who were the founders/Bishops of the church. He did say He who hears you hears Me, I think your thinking on this (contraception) is on very shakey ground. It isnā€™t only what Jesus says that we take as our faith.

I voted no. As much as I would like to answer with a resounding ā€œyes!!! :)ā€ , I am a sinner and try as much as I can to live a good Catholic life. Itā€™s not that easy, either ā€¦

I voted yesā€“but that isnā€™t literally true. I agree with or submit to every teaching of the Church, unless I failā€¦but I try.

I read it that way too. I marked yes, not because I think Iā€™m perfect but because it is my goal to fully follow the teachings of our Church. I know I will fail, but it will still be what I strive for.

God Bless,
Nicole

Ditto with me; I voted no. I have been going through a lot of faith struggles lately and sometimes feel like I canā€™t ā€œlive a good Catholic lifeā€ and that it would be easier to leave the Church but the Eucharist and the grace of God keeps drawing me back and showing me Godā€™s mercy and great love. Losing my parish recently contributed to my struggle so I am trying to remain a faithful mass goer even though getting to .*** is a lot harder now without a car. Sometimes it seems easier to not go, but I fight this urge and always am glad that I went after I go.
I am grateful to have found this Catholic Forum because reading other posts is very helpful and edifying for someone who wants to return to the Church or stay in the Church but struggles with doubts. I wish I could answer yes, I am struggling day by day with this and praying a lot and going to Mass and Confession.

I voted yes, but after reading all the posts, maybe I should have voted no. I am no saint by any measure, but we are called to be saints. I struggled many years with certain things (contraception), but since having found Catholic radio, I have come to accept the teachings of our wonderful mother, the Church. I have had SO many questions answered. How could I, a mere human, know the harm of contraception? But I thought the bedroom was one place the Church had no business. WRONG! God isnā€™t just a ā€œSunday thingā€! Heā€™s 24/7 and Jesus left us a Church to guide us to HIS Truth, (not ours!) I thank God for the daily conversion we are called to make and for the turn around, that with His help, I have made.
NightRider, Iā€™m praying for you. Keep your heart open to the Holy Spirit and seek Godā€™s Truth. He wonā€™t let you down! God Bless You!

Exactly mlchanceā€¦if you are sinning, you are not abiding by all the churches teachingsā€¦whoever clicked yes they do abide by them all must be up for beatification :rotfl:

The question should probably be ā€¦ā€˜do you agree with all church teachingā€™ā€¦but probably best to avoid that question as it may possibly start a fight

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa
I guess thatā€™s how I took the question. Do you try to live up to Catholic teaching as yoiu understand it or do you purposely go against it?

In Christ,
Nancy šŸ™‚

I try as best as i absulotly can, and god is a-ok with that

It is only by Godā€™s grace and mercy that we are able to abide by His teachings in His Church. We cannot do it with out Him. šŸ™‚
