Do you "go in peace to love and serve the Lord"?

Just wondering, at the conclusion of Mass when the priest says “the Mass is ended. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.” if you really do. Or does life go on as it did before you entered the church for Mass that day?

For me, the answer is both as I was loving and serving the Lord before I got there.
 
good question. What I observe in the parking lot after mass leaves a big question mark.
 
Oh goodness, there are times I kinda wish He didn’t have so much work for me to do, but yeah, I most definitely leave mass energized to be open to His call. Sometimes it’s surprising how quickly He wanted me to do His work, and yeah, the peace thought is always in the back of my mind as I respond to whatever situation presents itself to me. I’ve gotten good at recognizing these ‘situations’ aren’t appearing out of nowhere but are directed toward my by Him. I wouldn’t have the strength or patience to meet those calls without the mass.
 
Absolutely. I also try to get there early enough to park in an area where I won’t lose my peace by getting nearly run over after mass. My closest near miss with another vehicle was someone in a huge SUV cutting in/out of traffic that nearly pushed me into the median last year. Guess where they turned into just ahead of me, the parish parking lot.

I hve no idea. I can only hope that God will look into my mind and heart and notice some improvement, however small. At least enough so that my prayers for The Church Suffering are helping out.😦
 
A lot of people coming out of Mass look indifferent or in a hurry, but that’s just being human. We cannot know what anyone’s heart or intentions are merely by things like a bit of impatience or preoccupation with lunch or whatever. What matters is we do the right thing, whether we feel like it or not, and are trusting in the Lord to make us into the kind of people he wants us to be.
 
I agree with the poster who said she was trying to love and serve the Lord at all times.

I am always sincerely thankful for and touched by his gifts of the Mass and the Eucharist, and I belive this would be reflected in my attitude if you ran into me as I was going to Mass or for quite some time afterwards.

In all seriousness, I attend Mass almost every day. On those days when I am unable, I feel the distance between me and God increase. Now that I am a daily Mass attendee, I do not know how I could ever go back to once a week.

I actually heard a homily on this once… For that ONE week everyone was nice letting other folks out. The nextweek it was back to same old same old.
 
I’d certainly like to believe we all do, but that would mean believing we are all perfect… Like anything else, I think it’s a conscious self-effort…
