Just checking to see if any of you go to Mass while on vacation - no matter where you may be?
Donna, I urge you to either visit ww.masstime.org or call 1-800-Masstime and find another Mass somewhere nearby to attend.Where we go on vacation there’s this beautiful Catholic church, but when we tried to go to mass there they called it a “Summer Mass” held the whole thing in a half an hour, ran through all the orders of worship, sang the most horrid monotone hymns and had absolutely no passion about anything going on around them … everyone in attendence looked like they just sucked a lemon!
So we don’t go … I can’t go to THAT and call it church, instead we bring our Bibles and our ‘At Home with the Word’ and do the readings and discuss what they meant with the kids.
it’s like mass without the mass …

Going to Mass on vacation is part of the enjoyment of a vacation for me! Even my daughter likes visiting different churches. As a matter of fact, where we stay is partially determined on proximity to the church, as I try to have it in walking distance (we usually summer vacation at the shore).Yes…I really enjoy going to Mass while on vacation (and swiping a bulletin for my own personal collection).

I personally love going to Mass and wouldn’t miss it - even on vacation. I am a little concerned about the quote on the USCCB …Just to present the other side of the coin. I do not know if this is an indult for the entire USCCB, or if it is just issued by our local Bishop. But we are excused from Mass when travelling.
