I keep seeing the word “blog” written and keep hearing Jimmy Akin, talking about his “blog,” but - WHAT IS A BLOG? and what meakes it different from a web page? Also how do you find a blog? :hmmm:

I have been pondering these questions for some time now and I need answers quick (or whenever you get around to it - I’m not really in any hurry), or I’m die of bordom.

Here’s my blog! 🙂 My latest entry is in honour of Mary (we did a procession of the crowning of Mary, small and beautiful, and it’s May!); it’s not much, since I doubt people would read it. But who knows? God is powerful and transcends predictability! 😃

(Of course I made some errors in the text; I cannot change them due to technical difficulties that they’re having at the moment… :()

Jimmy Akin’s blog (jimmyakin.org) is my favorite blog. A blog is like a journal, except it’s online and, unlike a journal or diary, its purpose is to be shared with others.

I think the difference between a blog and a web page is that a blog is constantly updated (in an ideal world, anyway), and web pages tend to be pretty static and devoted to providing information on a particular subject. Blogs tend to be pretty random, and you’ll see this clearly if you visit Jimmy’s. He writes about all sorts of things, from news about Pope Benedict to Star Trek.

Visit mine too! It isn’t nearly as interesting, but I try. =)

I KNEW I saw this thread some time ago!

I came across it when checking in online, but my server crashed as usual and it was a couple days before I could get online again to check out the local talent. By then I’d forgotten.

Well, just the other day a friend of mine encouraged me to start my own…so it’s now in my sig.

Check it out if you care.

I am off to read other blogs!

I’m new to the whole blogging world.

How do you llink other blogs and other links of interest?

Maybe my question pertains more to those who post on blogspot.com, but then again, maybe there is a universal “how to”?

Same with mine. ([surf(name removed by moderator)ure.journalspace.com](http://surf(name removed by moderator)ure.journalspace.com/))

By the way, can anybody tell me how to write that link here so it turns in the name of my blog instead of the address? I know the code I would use on my blog, but it doesn’t work here.
Write out the name of your blog (Inkblots In Time) and then use the icon of the globe and linked chain (on the task bar just above the post-reply box) to enclose it in code. It will look like this:

[Inkblots In Time](http://surf(name removed by moderator)ure.journalspace.com)

I like to use the bold tags, as well, in order to make hyperlinks easier to see.

Hope this helps!

With blogger it’s a matter of going into your html source and writing it all out. There should be a description of how to do that in the website’s FAQ. The template you’re using, however, doesn’t have a space for links; in fact, that’s why I didn’t use that template myself. Maybe you can write in a fresh link list, if you’re familiar with html.

God bless.
