We all have our favorite Christmas movies. Do you have a favorite movie you like to watch this time of year?

Last night I watched The Robe. Tonight I am watching The Greatest Story Ever Told. I probably will watch The Passion by Mel Gibson sometime.
Does anyone have another recommendation?

I watch Jesus of Nazareth (one of my absolute favorites) during Lent and The Passion on Good Friday (it’s a good penance and definitely sets the tone for the day).

I like The Ten Commandments too.

Jesus of Nazareth is also good. and I also like Barabbas.
“The Passion of The Christ”, by Mel Gibson, is my all time favorite, although I like all the above. God Bless, Memaw

Ten commandments and Jesus of Nazareth. I’ll probably watch the passion parts of JoN on Good Friday and Ten Commandments on thursday

Also the new: “Son of God” movie
From the history channels mini Bible series

I like to watch Jesus of Nazareth. But my husband has always liked King of Kings with Jeffrey Hunter. I will admit the music from King is very moving.

The Passion is always a must. It puts the great love of Christ into a new perspective. I adore the emphasis Gibson placed on Mary. I recently started a devotion to Mary, so when I watched the Passion last night, my heart was inconsolable until that final scene of the Resurrection.

I also love the Gospel of John. It is fairly slow and can be boring if you don’t watch it in the right state of mind, but if you use the movie as a prayer, it really comes alive. The importance of the connection of the Eucharist and the Passion are made very clear.

Jesus Christ Superstar (Can you tell I went to Catholic school in the 70s?)

Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ. Leaves nothing to the imagination.

Ten Commandments with Charleton Heston - if I don’t get the whole movie, I will still make sure to watch the burning bush sequence.

Usually every 3-4 years, I also watch Monty Python’s Life of Brian. It always reminds me to look on the bright side of life. Blessed are the cheesemakers…
