Do you have a great book to recommend for Advent spiritual reading?

I think it would be nice if each person offers just one (and only one please) of their favorite books that would make for a good read this Advent. So what is your book for us? You can tell a bit about it if you wish.

I have read that one for lent. It was good.

@Bruised_Reed
I’ve read that one many times, too. Right now, I can hear it telling me to go to confession for advent…ahhhhh! I have the whole set. It gives excellent spiritual formation throughout the year. But it would be more helpful if I read it consistently all the way through the year. 😦

Do you do your reading in the morning?Time and time again those readings correspond with what had happened that day when I read them at night,and wish I’d have read them in the morning.Im more inclined to skip them if I leave it till evening to read.

Well, read them at the time you are most certain to get them in to your daily schedule.

I tend towards being a night owl, but I will read at various times.

This book would be all I need really the rest of my sojourn down here. I suppose apart from the Bible, I could put all other books aside and interiorize the teachings contained in “I Believe in Love” (A personal retreat based on the teachings of St. Therese of Lisieux")

I will try to focus most on this book during advent, I think.

I’m not a morning person and no matter how much time I try to give myself I run out of it. My lunch break allows some flexibility so I can avoid feeling rushed. I prefer to read then ponder while I eat,

That’s a good idea :coffee:
Reading articles provided in the forums ,and feeling part of a community here observing Advent is helping this year for me.Just …trying… not to get addicted 😁
