Do you have a picture of Pope Benedict the 16th in your home

OK.😃 I took a ceramics class where we mixed the slip, poured it into molds, baked it, painted it, and baked it again. I used traditional “Mary” colors but also used a glaze that gave the statue a “Hummel” look. My mom passed away 20 yrs ago, but I still have the statue.

I don’t understand this practice of having pictures of the popes in frames on walls and such? I know he is the leader of the Church, which deserves respect, but I don’t know. He’s not Jesus, you know? I have a picture of Jesus on my wall. Good enough for me!

And curiosity killed me! Why is Pope Benedict the reason you are entering the church? I was just baptized last Easter - but the Pope had absolutely nothing to do with it! lol!

I have plenty of pictures of Jesus hanging up, too. And a crucifix in every room. And pictures of Mary. And St. Therese. And much more. I also have pictures of my wife, and kids, and parents. The Pope is my spiritual father. Benedict XVI is like one of the family. Why wouldn’t I have his picture in my home? 🤷

Not that every Catholic is obligated to have a picture of the pope in their house. But I like having one (well, actually, two). 👍
 
I have a picture of the pope that was cut out of a newspaper the day after he was elected and an image of John Paul II which is contains a relic.

Mine is over my PC also. It is a formal photo-not a candid–that we got at the Papal Mass when he was in DC.
