Do You Have a Pro Life Bumper Sticker On Your Car?

Interesting thread. I used to have a pro-life sticker on my car. It simply stated “abortion kills babies”. When I sold the car, a Morris Minor, I left the sticker in it. I thought that it might give the new owner cause for thought.

During that time, it never occurred to me that anyone would be sufficiently stupid or criminal to damage me or my car; and, of course, they didn’t!!!

Good luck to all you pro-life stickers.

I have this one on my car.

At least once or twice a month, perfect strangers will approach me at parking lots and make a positive comment about it.

You live in England. I think the US is more violent.

Back in my college days I had this nifty bumper sticker I got at the local American Opinion Bookstore that said " abortion is murder". On day with my car parked in the dorm parkinglot I got a death threat note on my car. Nothing ever happened.

I cannot vote in your poll: If you are going to allow only one poll choice, you must make each option mutually exclusive. The choices “Yes, I have a pro-life bumper sticker on my car” and “I am proud to be pro-life” are not mutually exclusive, rendering the poll invalid (since it compares the choices by percentage).

Well, if you think that killing babies is okay, then your are right, you cannot vote in the poll.

I will add that for the purpose of this thread, you can safely assume that no one would be interested in hearing the opinion of some who think killing children is okay. That is why such people are intentionally excluded. It is also why such people are explicitly excluded from being Catholic.

rpp, I think you misunderstood what the ethereality was saying. She wrote “poll choice”, not “pro-choice” and she was referring to the fact that the poll had multiple options that applied to her. For example, one choice was “YES I SHOW A PRO LIFE BUMPER STICKER ON MY CAR” and another was “I’M PROUD TO BE PRO LIFE.” But can’t a person have/be both? After all, if the person displays an adoption bumper sticker on their car, they are also likley to be proudly pro-life. So then which option should they select? Since the options are not mutually exclusive, you won’t be able to compare the results. That’s all ethereality was saying, and I’ll admit that it also caused me a moment’s pause when deciding how to vote.

Having both was my idea when I posted the poll. Sorry, if it was confusing.

I used to have bumper stickers on my car. I really liked them. One said " If it’s not a baby, you’re not pregnant" and the other said “Having an abortion doesn’t make you un-pregnant it makes you the mother of a dead baby”. I used to get notes on my car. People would leave them under the wiper blades that would say things like “I love abortion” or " Loser" or stuff like that. I actually liked it at first because I knew that what I had to say with those stickers was so true and thought provoking. If it weren’t the people who left those notes would just walk on by, but they didn’t- in some way it touched them. Perhaps right where it hurt. Sometimes people would honk and give me a thumbs up in approval and several people asked me where I got them and wanted some. I was in the Walmart parking lot though and someone ripped the stickers off my car. It appears they saw me coming and so ran off because one of them was still partially hanging there. As my mother and I got into the car she brought up a good point. People that are for abortion to one degree or another don’t have a concern for human life, let alone mine. People go all psycho when they get cut off driving or if someone drives too slow in front of them. What if those same types of people saw that sticker and waited for me to come out of the store. I have little kids. I don’t want to risk encountering such behavior anymore. I can help the pro-life movement in other ways- no need to be a walking target for freaks. I do miss my stickers though.

I saw a Pro-Life bumper sticker today and I wanted to tell you bumper-sticker-lovers about it

But I forget what it said. 😦

I remember that it was old and faded, so that means the car had it on there for a while. It was a Pro-Life message, but I honestly completely forgot what it said. But IT WAS PRO-LIFE!!! WEEEEE!!!

I don’t own a car but often rent cars in my local area. I keep a sticker on hand, mounted on paperboard, and when I’m going to the rental place, I bring it - along with my rosary for the rearview! - and prop it in the back or front windshield (whichever works better) of the rental vehicle for the duration of the rental. The message is probably something many on this forum don’t agree with, but here’s what it says: “We’re Pro-Life Peace Voters. Where are our candidates?”

That’s true. I do live in the UK; perhaps the USA is more violent. Don’t the police or ordinary passers by in the street come to your aid if there is criminal damage to your car, or violence to yourself? I would probably still have a pro-life sticker in my car, despite the consequences, but if you do risk violence, then I take my hat off to you.

I have no bumper stickers of any sort on my car - that’s just not my style. Also, I’m afraid that - no matter the issue - there are some people who would disagree so vehemently with whatever the sticker said that they might vandalize my vehicle.

It is quite a high price to pay for freedom of speech if your car is trashed; as I said, I would probably not remove my sticker from my car, but it would worry me. In any case its not so much the stickers that are important as persuading people, perhaps over a long period of time, that all life is valuable and to be cherished. I am sure that you promote this message in ways other than using a bumper sticker.

Bah! It’s a car, a convenient heap of steel. Surely you are aware of all the Christian martyrs who stood up for their faith unto death? You should stand up for your faith no matter what the consequences – the Bible says a great deal about the goodness of suffering for the sake of Christ.

I have one bumper sticker: “Every child is a gift from God” (picture of baby and Bible reference). I hope to get more of various kinds: Pro-death propaganda is all over our media; we need more visible Christian messages.

Stained glass was used to pictorially get the message out to those who could not read. Bumper stickers can serve much the same purpose today, the illiterate now being the secular who neither know religion nor how to learn it.

I will profess my faith in the manner I see fit, thanks.

I have never had a bumper sticker of any kind on any car I have ever owned.
