I have no bumper stickers of any sort on my car - that’s just not my style. Also, I’m afraid that - no matter the issue - there are some people who would disagree so vehemently with whatever the sticker said that they might vandalize my vehicle.
I think there is a word when people give in to fear, but it escapes me just now.

Get one. That’s an order. Seriously it is one way to make pro life advocates more visible. Think about it.😉
No thanks. I am more than comfrtable with my contributions to the pro-life movement over the last quarter century-if you find that a good way to advance the ministry then have at it-I have no desire to put a bumper sticker of any kind on my car. in fact i would go so far as to say I DESPISE bumper stickers.

I have never had a bumper sticker of any kind on any car I have ever owned.
I have this sticker on my back window. I got it free from the website owner. (Click on the sticker.)

I also have a sticker of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
I like this sticker, however this is from a site promoting the “Seamless garment theory” ie all issues are of equal seriousness. But it does give me an idea for another bumper sticker I think I will get. Something like:

ABORTION-EUTHANASIA-RACISM
War- Poverty- Capital Punishment

with the lines through each word.

Be sure to know the intentions behind the words. This site may be legit. or they may have overlooked the fact that Abortion and Euthanasia are crimes of Intrinsic Evil. The others, while evil, are matters of Prudential judgement.

WELL!! I know what you mean. I don’t like to see cars that are all gunked up with junky stuff either, but I have magnetic stickers so I can take them off when I want. Are you a car “purist”? I know my husband is. Ne’er a sticker anywhere except on his Mini.

On this forum I make a point of communicating with the same courtesy I would use if the person reading my post was standing directly in front of me and we were having a conversation. I suspect that you are not.

You are right. I am generally more courteous on this forum than in person.

If you do not want to have a bumper-sticker on your car because you do not like them in general, like Estesbob, that is fine. However, if you choose not to have one because you are afraid of what people may think of you or do to you or your car, that is a different matter entirely. A matter in which you should reflect on very carefully.

Further to my comments from earlier in the thread…I do not like bumper stickers in general. I think they are tacky at best. I don’t know anyone who has changed their opinion - or were even influenced, for that matter - by a slogan on a moving vehicle. I know I haven’t.

One thing that I have reflected on very carefully…I am not at all interested in your comments on how I should profess my faith. I’ll make those decisions for myself. But I will return the favor by not giving you any unwelcome suggestions either.

Do not confuse an unwelcome comment or observation with one that intended to insult or demean. Just because a statement is unwelcome does not make it invalid.

In this post, you expressed a reasonable reason why you choose not to express your faith or opinion in the form of a bumper sticker. Earlier, you expressed a reason that was not consistent with the gifts of the Holy Spirit or important virtues. As we see in Ezekiel 3:17-21, we are morally obligated to point out the faults and weaknesses of others. You took offense when none was intended.

Your first statement is what my philosophy professor from many years ago would call a ‘distinction without a difference’. Your statement was unwelcome precisely because it came across as demeaning! But I will take you at your word that that was not your intent.

I don’t know if anyone said this already, but I’m pro-life and proud to show it on my future car * but prouder to live it out. I don’t agree with the “Abortion is murder” stickers, cuz alought this is totally true, most people are going to look at that and think…well that’s just some christians opinion - it’s not true. I love the About.73 method - encouraging people to go online and look at the facts. I also like bummer stickers with facts. My fav stickers, however, are the one’s with the “i love babies” or “babies are people too” or the “pray to end abortion”…i don’t know…I think that bummer stickers are good, but not half as good as just living you day-to-day life as a pro-life person…even though that can be REALLY hard. :)*

It is a very eerie feeling for me to be driving around ANYPLACE and realize I am the only one in traffic with a Pro Life Bumper Sticker on my car. Same for the Church parking lot. Only my lonely one is visible.

How many of you have a Pro Life bumper sticker visible on your car? Why do you, or why don’t you show one?
I’m a Protestant and don’t have a pro-life bumper sticker, but I am always glad to see Roman Catholics with them, especially when they are not rude or offensive (as that will more likely make people angry rather than save unborn lives). I like the quote by Mother Theresa on abortion. So, keep it up!

However, I’m about to try to start a thread on the graphic abortion posters and would appreciate imput on that.

I have a pro-life bumper sticker that shouldn’t cause strife (I often carry my grandchildren in my car and being loudly pro-life is getting socially dangerous). It’s a quote of Mother Teresa talking about the gift that children are.

I’m proud to be pro-life but I don’t want to deface my car (and drop the trade in value) so I don’t have any bumper stickers. I do, however, have a cling thing on the inside of my window that states that! 🙂

Hello Brethren,

Good thing I found this thread I was about to make 1 just wondering how many people have a sticker or something similar to this. But I guess my questions have been answered.

So what are the type of reactions you get from other people when your driving, like any thumbs up or thumbs down or a Hello?

I also want to put a pro life sticker on my car but when I get a daily driver and I have also talked my sister into it so I think its cool.

Well good bless :signofcross:

Let all pray for the souls in purgatory :gopray2:

My mother calls my car the “Pro-Life Mobile”. 😃

I get mostly good reactions (thumbs up; peace sign) when I do get a reaction, which really isn’t all that often. Once in a blue moon, I’ll get some smart aleck who feels the need to ride my bumper, and I wonder if he/she is just extremely impatient, or if he/she happens to be pro-abortion.

One time (only one time) someone gave me “the finger”. I smiled broadly at him.
