Do You Have a Soul?

If you have a soul, you know it. Of course it is possible for those of us with souls to conceive of a ‘person’ without a soul who looks and acts like a person with a soul. This kind of ‘person’ would have human behavior driven by biology but without the same kind of experiences that we soul-owners have. That kind of person has no idea what a soul is.

So if you have a soul, you know it. If you don’t have you, you find the question absurd. So it should make for an easy census.

I believe the creatures you are referring to are called “chimpanzees”.

All human beings have souls, even those in a vegetative state, even babies in the womb, even those with major brain defects, even those embryos on ice in a lab. And should a person ever be cloned, that clone would have a soul too.
