Do you have a TV program you unexpectedly found that you enjoy?

I don’t care for survival shows ( Bear Grylls "Man v. Wild, etc.) but I really enjoy Dual Survivor with Dave Canterbury and Cody Lundin. The interaction between Dave and the barefoot Cody is fascinating and the scenarios are actually somewhat useful.
Survival while barefoot.

I dunno.

[ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch …]

:hmmm:

Never expected to be a Doctor Who fan, but I am. I worry sometimes that it is anti-religious. Anyone have an opinion on that? I can’t find a recent thread on the topic.

The Middle on ABC–watching the 1st season on DVD since I missed it the first time

Blue Bloods

About a Catholic Family with the head of the family (Tom Selleck) being the police commissioner. He has 2 living sons who are both cops, and a deceased son who was also a cop. The only daughter decided to become a lawyer.
Grampa (former cop) and Tom who is a widower both live together. There is plenty of police action, there are Sunday dinners where they say grace “the catholic way” 😛 . It’s a show that’s extremely sympathetic to real Catholics (so far anyway).

I found this show in the middle of the first season so now I’m watching the reruns until the next season. The reruns are new to me anyway since I didn’t see those episodes yet 🙂

I found that now that I have NetFlix on the Wii box, I can watch all the old classic shows. The Dick Van **** Show, Wagon Train, and a more recent show, Monk. I was surprised that I liked Monk so much. It is very clever and very funny. In my opinion.

America’s Got Talent, Chuck, Man versus Food

any of the Law and Order shows…

Monk… but I’ve seen almost all of them…

The Event, too bad it is not being renewed…

Top Shots … not wild about these orchestrated survivor elimination programs, but both wife and I like this one. She put me on to it. Some drama. But not too bad.

MI 5 on PBS. British crime show somewhat similar to CSI but better plot lines.

The Rosary on EWTN. I thought it would just be annoying but I love to say it with Mother Angelica and the nuns!

I just watched “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” last night and I can’t say I enjoyed it…but I was very interested in that Traveler/Gypsy culture. They are Catholics but it’s a very different way of life.

“Intervention,” while I find it SMH-worthy, I also like that some of the addicts do get and stay clean.
I just caught this My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding too. Its like a train wreck…you dont want to watch but you just gotta see whats happening. I does make me very sad to see those little girls dressed like hootchie-mamas out there dancing. AND the pepto-bismol colored, giant dresses for 1st communion…my goodness.

I think it’s called Inspector America.

Some guy goes “backstage” and shows us how bridges, roads, drainage, arenas, and other public facilities are falling apart.

He does get a little hyper from time to time.

AND, he does show when things seem to be working well. The Minneapolis solid waste incinerator … trash-to-electricity burner … was interesting. They include an additive that absorbs the mercury and other toxins so that none of that stuff makes it into the atmosphere.

Lost - I thought it sounded silly when everyone else was watching. Then Netflix started recommending it and I ended up watching the entire show. Cliff-hangers + access to the next episode = very dangerous! 🙂

Believe it or not, one of 'em would have to be One Piece.

When I first saw promotion pictures for that anime, I was instantly turned off by the cartoony drawing style (and I still am).

Over time though, I noticed that it was really that popular and as a rule of thumb, when I see something popular despite a style I deemed ugly, that could only mean on thing.

The story is that good.

Thus, when I saw the first episode, I nearly laughed my lungs out.

Granted, I’m not a big time fan but the fact that it managed to get itself on my watching list (and the manga on my reading list) despite my complete dislike for its drawing style is a respectable feat in of itself.

That and the first opening song is so good, it takes a while for me to get it outta my head! >w<;;;

I know this isn’t a TV programn. But i really enjoyed the remake of True Grit.
Which as a massive John Wayne fan. It is something i never thought i would say.
I am not saying it is better than the original. I am just saying it is a very good movie.

Ooooh, I just watched True Grit with my husband for Father’s Day. We both absolutely loved it.

“Dual Survival” - two wilderness survival experts (one a new age-ish hippie type, the other a military survival trainer) are dumped in some isolated location and have to survive. Friendly (sometimes not so friendly) rivalry between them, and it’s fun to watch their different perepectives, as well as seeing that some of the things taught in survival classes aren’t so easy to pull off in the real world. Some of the stuff they show could actually save a life sometime.

on USA the hilarious show Psych!! I was looking on Youtube for some videos for another show on USA and I came across Psych videos, turned out they were extremely funny and then I went and watched all 5 seasons of the show!!!

Also the BBC One show Luther. I don’t know what made me suddenly want to start watching this show, I think I just heard about it because of the name Luther, I thought it was a show about Martin Luther King Jr at first just because of the title. 😃 Totally not about him at all!!🙂 But I started watching the show and I loved it!!!

:)🙂
