Our vicar general plays hymns on his iPod before Mass and sometimes after Mass, at the start of Adoration.
He chooses beautiful renditions of hymns.
We are blessed to hear them.

Op, why are your threads always put into the incorrect subforum?

There are serious minded people here that may not appreciate that you do this.

You seem like a very intelligent person, so I wonder why.

God Bless you. 🌸

When they sing Santo es el Senor we have a good singing group, the youth group

Lessons do wonders!
So does daily practice. The vocal cords are muscles and grow stronger and more “trained” with daily practice like any other muscle. But one also has to learn to take care of the throat properly or a singing career won’t last long.

We have a number of exceptional musicians at my parish.

We have a full time music/liturgy director who directs our 50-60 person adult choir and the 20-30 person young adult/high school choirs. Our choir director studied under and sang for Paul Salamunovich, the late director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His wife directs the children/middle school choir.

We have a number of exceptional instrumentalists. Some of singers and cantors could (or do) sing professionally for other groups. Those of us who are “just average” singers can’t help but do well when surrounded by such talent.

Our Church can seat approximately 1,000 people. But we don’t usually have that many people at a given Mass.
