Do you have MLK Day off on Monday?

I work for a publically traded, yet privately owned company, and we have Monday off–yippee!

Anyone else here have Monday off? It’s dh’s b-day on Sunday, so this works out well this year.👍
 
Yeah, my DH has it off. I don’t, but I don’t go to work until 10:00 p.m. Newspapers publish every day…

We’re taking our monkeys to go see their buddies who live in the zoo… 😉
 
Yup. And the day care is closed too, so we’ll have the munchkins at home with us!
 
not me… but thats ok… kids have it off and it is the 6th and 5th day off in a row for them… I think I could use the break from them.
 
My hubby and kids have the day off. The kids are home today because it’s so cold. All of the schools around us closed today
 
I have it off from law school but not from work. Just means i will work instead and earn some much need money.

our tuesday professor has cancelled class so that we can all watch the presidential swearing in cermony. Nice gesture but I am most likely going to be studying during that time.
 
We have school, but are going off campus for a day of service.

So yeah, I have to work 😛 .
 
I have to work, which kind of stinks. We do get Presidents’ Day off though when most insurance companies/agencies don’t.

I can’t resist… would this professor do the same thing if a Republican were being sworn in? :hmmm: Somehow, I doubt it…
 
My kids have it off but not my husband. But then my son doesn’t have any classes on Monday anyways… It’s pretty much been a school holiday here for years. But not all businesses get it off.

I’m off but that’s because I’m between jobs right now. But I expect to be employed by the time I have to worry about whether or not I get Presidents’ Day off.
 
Not doing anything fun unfortunately…taking the cat to get…snipped! Meeeeoooowch! lol

Kidding. Heard it is a piece of cake. Easy for the vet to say. I’ll have to ask Saber about it, when it’s over. 😉
 
Our school is doing special events to honor the day…but oddly we still have class. Of course, we had class on Labor Day too. 🤷

Back home in the South we always, always had the day off. I wonder if this is just my college, or if the holiday just isn’t as big a deal here in Indiana?
 
Not here in Korea, obviously, but I do have Lunar New Year’s off, which is a three-day holiday on the 25th, 26th, and 27th of January this year. I asked for the Saturday off as well, so I can go to the Philippines and see the love of my life and meet his family. 😃
 
I work industrial security. Security doesn’t get holidays. I worked T’giving, Christmas, New Year…

Oh wow–how exciting…this is the first time I take, JW, for meeting his family? I’ll be praying for you that all goes well! I’m sure it will…they will adore you. 🙂

Yeah, it’s the first time. I met his cousin here in Korea, but nobody in his immediate family. I’m so excited! I’m pretty sure everything will go well, but I can’t help being a little bit nervous. Plus we only have four days together, and his parents live six hours away from his sisters, so there’ll be a lot of time in the car. At first we planned to leave his parents for another trip, but he changed his mind, and I’m letting him handle the plans. As long as I’m with him, I don’t mind what we’ve got planned!

But I’ll take all the prayers I can get, though! 😃
