DH and I are going to be adopting and we thought it would be good to make Sunday a special day so that the kids look forward to it and church. Do you do certain traditions on Sundays that you don’t do the other days of the week?

Bacon and eggs and homemade pancakes for breakfast:thumbsup:

Mass.

Coffee and cookies after mass in the Church hall

A light lunch.

A nice walk in the afternoon.

Supper with grandma and grandpa (we take in turns - their house or ours)

And we’re pretty religious about it;)

I think it would be great to have Sunday traditions!

I have no family living with me (single and living alone) but I would definitely want to start some fun traditions to keep the kids excited for Sundays. 😃

My husband works 6 days a week, so Sunday is work around the house day, getting jobs done that cant get done during the week, or he takes off and goes fishing! So it depends on the weather, if it’s not nice it’s house work, if it’s nice, he disappears!
It was like this even when the children were at home, there is no day of rest for a workaholic who can’t sit still for 5 minutes!

We always have pasta on Sunday nights. It’s what hubby’s grandmother always did.

When I was a wee little girl, we didn’t do any shopping, cleaning, etc. and we always went to visit my nearby uncle and aunt (paternal brother).

We all go to mass together as a family, of course. Otherwise, nothing special.

Sunday is a chore-free day for the kids. They love that. 😉

Same here. 👍

Usually we have coffee while reading the morning newspaper. Mass. Pasta sauce with meatballs goes on when we return, and it fills the house with a great smell all day. (My husband once walked in after being away. Smelled the sauce cooking and said it smelled like home. 🙂 )
Sometimes we go for a ride, or watch a movie. Now my 80 year old MIL comes over for dinner on Sundays most weeks.

We don’t do it as much anymore, but it was always a treat when we’d stop at the bakery or donut/bagel shop after Mass on Sundays 🙂 Now we usually spend the morning cleaning, haha.

We usually go to the early Mass, then out for breakfast. We’ll then go to the mall, to a park or museum, grocery shopping, or come home so I can take a nap if I worked the night before. We do dinner with Grandma & Grandpa then come home and end the night with the Rosary before the kids go to bed.

We usually go to mass together as a family, sometimes stay after mass pray the rosary together, have brunch together, then relax the rest of the day and have an early dinner! We don’t work at all on Sunday. Usually enjoy a nice bike ride, trip to the pool, leisurely walk, etc. Work all week then enjoy the Sabbath 😉
