Do you kneel when you pray at night?

I never used to kneel when I would pray in my room for a long time, but now I have been kneeling when I pray (in my room before bedtime) for awhile, but the reason is because my older sister once said (she heard or someone told her) that those who kneel in prayer would go to Heaven or something of that sort. I was really young when she said this, but it stuck in my head, and ever since she said it, I’ve been kneeling when I pray. Is it wrong that I do that? I’ve gotten used to kneeling now and I like it, except when I pray the rosary I don’t kneel.

Kneeling in prayer is just one posture to pray in. I did so when I was little and and started again post-conversion; it reminded me of being a child and I wanted to be a little child before God. I got out of the habit but I wish I would have kept it up since I can’t spend any time on my knees now.

And one’s prayer posture isn’t going to put one on the fast track to heaven.
 
The knees don’t work the way they used to; kneeling is out for me. Remember; it’s not the posture of praying that’s important; it’s the praying.
 
Don’t worry, you don’t have to kneel to pray. It is very beneficial to disposing us to humility, but not required. God looks more on the heart than the bodily position.
With that being said, I do recommend you kneel while praying, as it is a form of penance.

The Lord hears all your prayers no matter how you are positioned as long as they are earnest, and guess what, He even hears those that are not earnest, selfish and vain-glorious. And anyway, my knees protest mightily. Peace.
 
Them knees…not the greatest creation! I pray lying down, that way if I fall asleep, my guardian angel takes over!

I’m 74 & my hips & knees are painful, so I only kneel on the kneelers in church. If a parish has none, I kneel on the floor only during the Consecration.
At home I sit.
 
I lay down in bed when I say my night prayers. I do the same when I get up in the morning, but I have to keep alert or I’ll accidentally fall asleep again! 😛
 
When I pray I like to lift my hands up in
the air, b/c I read that when Moses lift-
ed up his hands, HIS side won!! See

Very rarely. I pray as I"m lying in bed. It helps rme relax and drfit off to sleep.

If kneeling helps you focus your mind on your prayers, if it helps you remain humble in the presence of God, if it gives you a sense of purpose or peace – then kneel, by all means, and thank God for the grace to do so.

But don’t kneel because it’ll get you to heaven.

It is the posture of the heart, as it were, that empowers our prayers for the good of our souls. So many of us here cannot kneel – I’m only 49 but can’t even kneel on the kneelers at church – but having to sit can bring humility of heart, a truly grace-filled “posture.”

God bless you for seeking holiness. That desire is a true gift from God.
 
Yeah, sometimes. I pray in lots of different postures. I do it standing up, walking, sitting, etc. When I’m thanking the Lord for something, I get down on my face and pray.
 
Scripture says that every knee will bend before God.

I think kneeling is an exceptionally good posture to practice when praying, but as others said here, for some this is an impossibility for their knees aren’t able.

You can always stand and pray as an alternative. When my church had some interior remodeling going on Mass was moved to the gym of the adjacent school. There were no kneelers, and the priest, understanding there would be some who could not kneel on the hard surface of the gym, told everyone to just stand instead.
