Do you know anyone from CAF in real life?

Curious, does anyone know people on CAF in real life? Whether they met up or knew each other before or knew each other and then realized they both had CAF?

Yes, I had a friend I met on CAF come and visit me from Ireland twice. And other people, I am friends with off CAF, though we haven’t met in person.
 
Yes. I met one guy I’ve befriended in CAF and another who I am hanging out with regularly now.

Some I haven’t met, but talk to on other platforms.

I wish I could meet more CAFers.
 
There needs to be a convention! There could be one meeting for the rad-trads, one for the people who love more contemporary music. Would that be the defining line, I wonder?
 
I don’t think it’s good to put people in “us” vs “they” categories. I love all my fellow brothers and sisters, no matter if we share the same ‘side of the line’ as it were.

There is great richness in the traditional side but also very moving and spiritual richness from the more contemporary.

We should unite not divide. At the end of the day, we all want to bring about the Kingdom of God here on Earth and make the world a more just and peaceable place. We just go about doing this differently.

How about we organize meet ups in various regions of different countries?

Also, I think Catholic Answers needs to launch a Catholic friend making app or site because it’s so hard nowadays to find people with the same values and interests as a Catholic.
 
I have never met anyone else in person, but one of these years I’m going to attend either the yearly cruise or the annual conference, so I hope to then!

I love this idea. I’ve done meetups with online friends from Twitter and had a blast.
 
I know one poster that I met on here. I was going to be his RCIA sponsor, traced crosses on him at the rite of acceptance and everything, but he suddenly moved away days later. 🤷‍♀️

I’m friends with a few from here through emailing ,great people.
 
Yes, my American daughter-in-law., who began by adding my son to her prayer list in the old CAF.
When he was going through a tough time, she felt so sorry for him she asked me if he wanted a phone buddy.

They found they had a lot in common,
Emigrated to Australia to marry him.
Utterly devoted to each other.
 
But you will be meeting me next time we’re South.
Husband agrees he’ll take me to yours, and will fix anything that needs fixing x

Sitting with my son in mass I realised St Mary of the Cross was beside us (as in Portland another time) her portrait smiling away there at the end of our pew.On the way to mass I had mentioned yours and our connection to her 🙂

I worked with a guy for over 20 years who used to post a lot on the old CAF, and I met another CAF member just last year 🙂.

My son had a long wait. He was hardworking, and shy, and an awful lot of bad things happed in his life, a lot of injustice and hurt.

Finally after many, many prayers I began praying Lord, “ Lord if there is anyone in the world who will be truly right for him and will genuinely love him, and whom would truly love him and be right for him, please let them find each other”.

He did answer that prayer, (it appears He did so with a touch of humor as she lived in another hemisphere over a vast ocean.)
 
I think the hardest part is praying and praying and feeling like an answer isn’t coming. Obviously things work in God’s time but too often I feel like everyone else has a plan and good things going for them but I was forgotten about
