Is there a way I can like praying instead of seeing it as a chore and like not giving enough time to it due to too many other things that need to be done like work,housework etc?

I got taught by the Opus Dei members here that all moments can be converted into conversational prayer.

Opus Dei question Catholic Living
So we are told in Scripture to “pray always”. So it must be possible, but not without practice and effort. The formation given in Opus Dei helps us learn how to do this “spiritualizing of the material world”. So here is an example: Your child has a diaper explosion…so do we simply clean it up annoyingly, do we let the poor child stay in their dirty diaper, or do we bring God into that moment, asking Him for generosity, for more love, for a happy spirit of sacrifice, trusting that He will imme…

As I mentioned on another thread, my prayer life is a continual conversation with God that can last all day. Like you, I was never successful at what we might call “formal” prayer, where one sits or kneels and tries to come up with topics we think God might not be aware of. Whether it’s the Rosary, the Glory Be, or as is most often, spontaneous contemplative prayer, I like to do it while my body is occupied. And here’s an important thought to remember, this quote from Dorothy Day;

Maybe I was praying for him then, in my own way. Does God have a set way of prayer, a way that He expects each of us to follow? I doubt it. I believe some people-- lots of people-- pray through the witness of their lives, through the work they do, the friendships they have, the love they offer people and receive from people. Since when are words the only acceptable form of prayer?”

I think its first most important to just talk to Him as you would a friend. Share with him your struggles and anxiety. Tell Him to help you with something, share your love with Him. Eternal life is knowing God, start to know Him in the now. You don’t need to be kneeling you can do your dishes at the same time 😉 Know He hears you and loves you like you are the only one on earth!

I love to pray while I pray, but it’s like I personally put it off all the time.

Let’s be real: sometimes you don’t feel like praying. But it’s about dedication. Like exercise to an athlete.

I also think it needs to be practiced like a muscle. Prayer can be exhausting. So don’t try to do too much if you can’t handle it.

Think of the good it does, for you and others. Perhaps pray to God a short prayer to grant you graces in the matter. Pray a little throughout the day, bits at a time, even.

Be sure to have a conversation and not a monologue, like I may sometimes have trouble doing.

Sometimes I cannot help but to pray (verbally). But most of the time my prayer is more a remembrance or exercise of awareness that God is all around me and in all things.

You need to understand that praying is more important than almost everything in your life. And you need to pray by heart because this is the moment you are actually talking to Our Lady or saints or God Himself …
