Do you like where you live?

I live in CA. CA has become a one political state and if the people vote for something and the political party doesnā€™t like it they have the CA supreme court overturn it. I donā€™t like living in a place where only one side controls everything because of the entitlements they give away. Move on . org has bought our leaders and our souls.

My church never prays for the unborn. I have asked the Pastor several times if they could put something in the petitions for the Unborn. I wrote the Bishop if he could e-mail the Pastor and have someone speak of the Intrinsic Evils before the last election. The Bishop said he had already sent information to the priest. Now I have asked could we hear something about FOCA and support sending post cards to oppose FOCA. I think the Parish is afraid of losing money from Catholics you do not agree with the Church. Yes I believe it is all about money. The Bishops donā€™t wish to offend the wealthy and neither do the priests at least in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am moving out of CA where there is still a 2 party system and where the priests and people follow the teachings of the church and have not be bought offā€¦
 
neither answer works for me.

I like where I live but Iā€™d like to live somewhere else. Canā€™t stay in one place too long.

Not all parishes in California is like what you describe. I live near Sacramento. Our parish sent two buses to the Walk for Life west coast and ran out of FOCA post cards (1,500 cards) by the 10am Sunday mass.

Our youth minister was the man that spoke several times in the last part of the Life on the Rock program about the Walk for Life west coast.
 
I live in Oklahoma. And I like it because it because the cost of living is so reasonable compared to most parts of the country. It is a blessing that my wife has been able to stay at home and we can afford to put the 4 kids in catholic elementary school (High school may be tougher) on my incomeā€¦and still live a fairly ā€œworry freeā€ life.

People are nice here tooā€¦and very little traffic šŸ‘

I agree Oklahomanā€™s are about the nicest people Iā€™ve ever met.
 
I live in a very small town in Michigan and I like it. It took awhile for me to get use to the winters because I am from New Orleans. I love New Orleans and wish I could live there, but there is too much crime.

One day, in about 50 years, I hope to relocate to heaven. šŸ˜‰

NO NO NO

I live in Maine and it is too cold. Too much snow, dark and gloomy. We have only 2 seasons, a LONG winter and a SHORT summer. There are not many jobs here, mostly part time, which adults and students are fighting over at the moment, but what good is that gonna do ya by way of health insurance? The town I live in, Sanford, has the highest foreclosure rate in the state. And I am worried we may become one of the casualties. Pray for us.

My ultimate relocation spot is HEAVEN:) To me, Heaven will be like a tropical island, warm, comfortable, sun shiny, and happy. No SAD (Seasonal Affective Depression?}. I am sure I will be healed of my depression and fibromyalgia once St Pete lets me thru the gates!

I would like to relocate to FLORIDA, my daughter is a college student there, we could not afford to bring her home for Christmas due to the economy, I miss her very much.

OH Please Lord, help us get there someday!šŸ‘
 
I actually really like the Buffalo, NY area. The people are very down-to-earth and friendly on the whole. I recently talked to a guy who had moved here from NYC and he couldnā€™t stop marveling at how NICE people are. He especially commented (with wide eyes) that people actually stop to let you turn out of a street or a parking lot. Plus, itā€™s one of those places where many generations of family are firmly entrenched, and even when family members move away, the joke is that they always manage to come back eventually. That makes it nice for raising a family. That, and the fact that our housing is affordable and cost of living is low. And our highway system was built years ago when the planners thought weā€™d have 3 times the people we actually haveā€“so thereā€™s almost no traffic, ever! Twenty minutes to anywhere is our mantra! šŸ™‚

Before here I lived in ontarioā€¦Torontoā€¦and I did NOT like it there at all. šŸ˜¦

We left California in '95 just for that reason. We also lived in the SF Bay Area. Things were getting so crazy we couldnā€™t take it anymore and as we were planning to adopt decided that it was not where we wanted to raise our children. We are in Ohio now and things are a lot more sane.
 
I live in Chicagoland and dislike it. The land is boring and flat, the congestion is awful, the downtown is unbelievably overpriced, the politics are horrificly corrupt (as youā€™ll all be finding out now that weā€™ve taken over the Federal Government) and the catholicism is more cultural than religious.

I wanna move to Eden, but Iā€™m having trouble finding it with mapquestā€¦:rolleyes: šŸ˜‰

Yeah, it does get a little boring, except for this winter. Wowā€¦it was in the 20ā€™s last nightā€¦ice on my car windows this morning! Crazy.

But, sometimes, I do miss snow.šŸ˜¦
 
OK i know I said I liked where I live back there about 20 posts or so. But I changed my mind. Iā€™ve live here in NW AR for nearly 20 years now. I still miss southern Cali. And to be honest I would love to go back. If I could afford the high rents Iā€™d move back in a NY second period. But in these years Iā€™ve learned to bloom where I growā€¦and NW AR is where Iā€™m at so thatā€™s fine too. But Iā€™d rather be back in San Diego. Even with all the traffic and millions of people.
 
I love Oregon. It is beautiful and many natural wonders that help me appreciate Godā€™s creation all the more.

On the other hand, the people here, like the gay (potentially)pedophile mayor of Portland, the govenorā€™s intent require GPS devices in all vehicles to report where people drive, how far they go and where they go, and other weirdness may me want to scream (most of the time actually). The people and the politics are so bad here that I had to quite reading the newspaper and watching the local news because it was becomming an occasion of sin (wrath) for me to do so.

Oregon without the weirdos is a very pleasent place.

Could it be western NC. or is the whole state that way, surely not.
Lots of good people, just have to look a little harder than some places.

very clanish, if your not from here, most donā€™t care for you.
