Using your own definition, I would have to say no. I have both a car payment and a land payment that I had to take loans out for. However, I don’t have any other debt. I am determined that when my car is paid off (1 year to go!) that I am keeping it and will begin funneling the former car payment into a savings account so that if I do need to do repairs I can pay for them out of pocket. I am working hard to be more frugal and to put more money into savings for when the bad things happen. I should be debt free in 3 years- both the car and the land should be paid off then.
