I am sorry, but it really sounds like you are blowing this way, way out of proportion.

Like Burt Macklin said, it isn’t as though you bought a very expensive, brand new car.

And even if you had, why would think that everyone will look at you in a different way?

I wonder if this is the pride, that you mentioned in the first post, that is talking.

The image stuff is blown out of proportion, but the OP’s financial situation is genuinely bad, and she is right to be worried about their future.
