No. I only know English and I recall a small bit of Spanish leftover from 8th grade. Enough Spanish to count from 1 to 19. But Latin? No. I believe though God understands me when I pray in English.

I would love to learn latin and be able to speak it fluently. I wish they had offered this as a language at school as a pose to French. I have used a few online resources to learn but to be fair it hasn’t stuck much thought. I most likely need to set some time side properly and apply myself and learning and not dabblingas it were.
If anyone knows of good online resources feel free to enlighten me
👍✌️

Here is a thread I created in the before-time. That means that most if not all of the links are unfortunately dead, but should be easily reconstructable via google or another search engine (or, heck, feel free to ask me anything 🏛️🧐)

LATIN: Language Study Resources Traditional Catholicism
A few weeks ago I posted a [post=1603994]list of my favorite self-study resources for Latin[/post], and though I bookmarked it for future reference, I got to thinking it might be more useful as a devoted thread (especially for people who come to the forum looking for such). When I am at home I sometimes pray the Angelus.
When I pray the Liturgy of the Hours and it is a major feast day I might pray it in Latin otherwise I pray the Our Father in Latin.
Also I pray the Aurora in Latin.

Linney’s Latin class is a good start. He uses an old textbook that can be found for free on google books or purchased for 15 or 16$ from Amazon. The lectures are completely free. Just google Linney’s Latin Class and it should come right up. Mr. Linney also wrote his own Latin text which from what I understand is excellent, though basic. If you’re willing to spend about $60, I recommend getting Familia Romana from Hans Orberg’s “Lingua Latina” series along with the companion text by Jeanne Neumann. The text is entirely in Latin by design and it’s amazing how quickly one learns. The companion has vocabulary and English grammatical explanations for those who prefer something more direct. I’m taking a college Latin class now for fun and this is the text used.

Yep, for some reason I picked up the habit of saying the Hail Mary in Latin
